Basically I hit 2 slick spots and almost spun out on both of them in the span of 30 seconds. No damage but my license plate fell off when I hit a bush.

I was hitting my breaks cause it was quite a large hill and I didn't want to go too fast in snowy conditions and of course I lost traction, I ease up on brakes and keep my steering wheel straight but I spin anyways, so I turn towards spin and gently tap breaks. I still go out. No damage, I back up, and try again, 10 seconds later, same thing happens, the hell am I supposed to do?

Accelerating won't correct the car. If your car fishtails, what good does moving the car forward faster? It is more common sense on this one.

My car is a straight axle RWD car, I can literally kick out the back whenever I want. The reason most people spin out of control is either
(a) People brake too hard
(b) People over correct with the steering wheel
(c) Or your crazy option of death.

I mean if your car is drifting, you put on light throttle so the car doesn't spin out, then you correct it at the end of the turn to go straight. That is the ONLY time you put your foot on the accel. But I don't think SM is a pro drifter... so that is besides the point.

Also for AWD cars, I've driven these awd cars: Subaru WRX, Audi A4, and Porshce 911 Turbo. It takes a fool to spin those out, AWD cars understeer, not oversteer.

AWD cars don't drift, unless you are talking about those 4WD rally cars. The suspension setup on Audi's guarantee maximum performance in turns.

The system can balance power to any of wheels of the car, and oil in the shocks can make them stiffen or loose depending which way you are turning. The AWD system in Audi is really advanced, and it works real hard. I bet there is a lot of other tech stuff I missed but that is the basics of it.

Usually when I come across a really slick spot, especially at the top of a hill, I shift into a lower gear. As you're approaching the top of a hill, slow down a bit and carefully downshift. Try to let the engine hold you back instead of using brakes.

Probably not the best idea to downshift while you are going down the hill (do it at the top, or going up the previous hill).

I've also heard that accelerating (slightly) is better for regaining traction. If you use your brakes, you run the risk of locking your wheels. The tires need to be rotating in order to gain traction, so a slight tap of the gas when the front wheels are pointing in the right direction can help regain traction.
