Here's my take on it.
I chose crossbow because training is faster and more efficient. There aren't too many skills, so the cool downs on each skill is very low. Plus, you also have knock back and knock down which comes in handy a lot.
I don't have daggers, but I've been considering it. Personally, I think Rogues are decent with just one weapon. Having both weapons would certainly make you more versatile, but you can still be good with just one weapon. Daggers have very high cool downs on the skills, which got annoying for me because I like to keep things simple. Also, Dagger Desperate really makes you more vulnerable. At least with Crossbow Extreme, you'll have a range advantage so you'll barely get hit.
It is recommended to get both, but it'll require a lot of SP. It's not necessary to have both weapon skills, it just makes you better in all situations.
As for subs:
Cleric: This sub is for someone who likes to PVP. You'll have bless, recovery division, healing cycle, and holy word. It doesn't benefit you too much in PVE, but it can be helpful in some situations like fighting giants. RD and holy word help while grinding, but you'll have to switch weapons and rebuff every 5 minutes, and that will get really annoying.
Bard: This sub is for training and unique hunting. With noise and moving speed, you'll be able to move fast and not have to worry about aggro mobs. You will level up so much faster with a bard sub. Also, rogues aren't tanks. Even with a cleric sub, it won't make you invincible. Rogues are meant to be stealthy characters, meaning they get in and do the job without getting touched. In PVP, you will suck. I started a rogue/bard and leveling was great, but I love to PVP and CTF, and I sucked at it. I died so easily because bard gives you absolutely nothing for PVP. You will have to keep your distance and depend on stealth if you PVP/CTF a lot because 1 on 1 PVP is not your specialty. I ended up leaving my Rogue/Bard and switching back to my Rogue/Cleric.
Warlock: This really doesn't benefit you in any way except for 1 on 1 PVP and fighting party mobs. It's the most expensive SP build out of all these choices, but it's unique and requires a lot of skill. I wouldn't recommend it. It just doesn't offer a lot for a rogue.

Re: Rogue dilemma
Alright, I finally decided to go with crossbow rogue, with bard subclass.
I know which skills to take. I'm certain about rogue skills, but I have doubts regarding bard skills.
1) Which dances should I take? Reckon that my character is strenght based and does not have millions of mana.
2) Should I go with robes or light armor? Robes gain me speed and mana, but light armor would keep me alive when soloing. Hard call, again.. There are not too many monsters to grind on which have magical attack is there? Throughout from level ~ 20 to the max.
Summarized - help me decide which dances should I reckon taking and what armor should I wear.
Cheers!

1) you wont have problems with the dances/tambours, because you can sit down/recover your own mp, recovering others mp will be a problem tho.
2) I would go light armor untill 8D, then change to robes.(Roc mount)
About the dances, get the ones you think are usefull(e.g. mag damage increase)
I wouldnt take the healing dance btw. Seems useless

Re: Rogue dilemma
Well, you can do fine in pts with these bard skills:
echo, music life, prism
mana switch
moving march, guard / mana tambour, hit march
noise, mana cycle / orbit
tripping, screen dance
dancing of magic / wizardry
Soloing, Patter Clamor (bind) can help out a bit.
Taking Xbow with poison / vein weapon & poison / vein circle...along with those bard skills, you'll only needa farm like 490,358 sp
As for the armor ...go with Light Armor. Has better magical defense than Heavy Armor, and better physical defense than Robes.

Re: Rogue dilemma
From my experience...
1) for pvE: cleric...or else you'll die easily.
2) for PVP: any...cleric, bard, or warlock. IF you're warlock, you can get massive damage on a single target, BUT by the time you cast all debuffs, then change to daggars, then cast DD, then attacked....you might have been hit...Bard is only useful for a single skill (the speed one) which you can just buy...
3) I'd personally say cleric from my experiences...but my highest rogue is only 52 =( (FF to 52 though for Rogue/bard and Rogue/Cleric).

1) Actually, you won't die "easily" as long as you're smart. Cleric provides the best tanking with self heals, Warlock offers impotent, hp leeching, mirage, stun 'n sleep. Bard ...well, there's bind, confusion, discord wave, and speed.
2) Pvp with Rogue / Lock ...I barely needed DD to kill, or the bomb bug, let alone used DD / CE as much (only when I did stun > debuff > dot > xbow > kd > dagger > dd > scud > wounds). Being hit wasn't much of a prob, as long as it wasn't against peeps that used their cleric sub to their advantage.
