idoes the new email verification resolve this problem?

the thing i worry about is: the hacker knows my current password. that means he can log into my account rght now and do what? CHANGE THE REGISTERED EMAIL ADDRESS. so when the email verification comes along, all he would technically do is log in, change the email, have the verification email sent to it, then change the PW. i may lose the account forever unless i can do that first.


i need to get this changed before that happens. i made some progress tonight, i have some help that may be able to at least get my problem to the right people. <crosses fingers>

i am back in BH, though i still have not secured my account. the gear i am wearing (eww, garms! yucky!) is borrowed, though it's my spear. my wolf Saberath couldn't make it to the pic, he was napping in Soldier_y's storage.

we are keeping SG connected 24/7 so no more harm can come to her. let's hope i get this resolved soon.

Dont worry SG, knowing the rate at which JM works to deliver such changes, in all likelihood you will get your acct secured before EV comes about. The good thing is that you have got the right leads to contact the right ppl behind this game. that is really lucky.

Look on the bright side, after this is all over, your acct would be more secure than it has ever been. Not to mention knowing all the true frens who will help you in time of need.

Ur right. Verification email can only protect those who havent been hacked yet (or hacked but changed pass). It helps players to retrieve their secret answer and secure any change in player's profile.
But be aware that the day when that update will be released will come, sooner or later. So prepare for that!

this is interesting btw my first character was hacked and all that was taken was gold and potions all items were still there and no murder and my character was standing on top of the dw gate then i logged in recently and it had a message sent to it from a gold selling company (which was an advertisement) i never visited their site or used a bot but my pw was bad and so was my account name lol

this isn't about him. i could honestly care less if he's tracking my every move. he cannot get my character back if it is under constant 24/7 guard. he cannot get my character back when i am finally able to change my password to the strongest the game allows. and if he thinks that i am going to cower in the corner while he laughs all the way to the bank, he can go fark himself.

if i let this thread die, he has already won.

I woulda handed out some help and you'd be surprised to see who it was from, unfortunately i already gave away the majority of my assets when i left for GE, i kept enough to keep the characters playable, though I don't really want to play them.

I'm hoping euro will be as fullfilling as it looks, either that or I'm gonna need to get lucky and be given a capped blader >.>

just remember though, if you need help theres plenty of people around you to help rebuild the bridge

Let's just hope your character doesn't become disconnected. I'm sure you have people watching to make sure it's logged back in if that happens, but the hacker might as well.

He is forced to be disconnected after each server inspection. And be aware that there are always emergency inspections after every updates, to fix bug and error.
So it's better to give to trustworthy friends your valuable stuffs before the inspection.

when you change your email you should recive a mail to your old one and new then you have to confirm both like in guildwars > total safety

aaahhh, really sorry to hear, and why the f*ck did Joymax refused to help you, i mean it would probably only take them 1 minute or something to fix your problem.

i really hope you'll continu playing SRO, and that you'll be able to change your password, because it's hard to develop a character and knowing that someone can destroy it any time.

it is my spear, yes. as soon as i am done with it i give it back into the care of my guild mates. i leave nothing on my character when i am not on her but the 2d armor and lvl16 spear the hacker bought me lol.

I've just sent you a PM as you requested. My offer still stand to assist you to get back on you feet for this unfortunately event you had to endure for the past week. As for the bot "accusation" issue... I understand exactly where you are coming from. I don't like bot accusations on a public forum either, as I've been accused of on here many times, mainly by people who don't even play in my server lol. Outside this thread, I've never publicly "accuse" anyone of botting as I do not care if people bot or not. I just play and have fun with this game for what it is. No game is perfect, and SRO is no exception. I don't judge a person by whether they bot or not, as I know botters who are way cooler than legits. However, those aren't accusations... those are facts. I don't believe anyone can make up a plausible excuse when their login details are stored in a bot server with thousands of hours of botting time logged with datestamps.

I only posted a few entries in a server that I don't play on with sensitive information of people I don't know to prove my point. I could have posted all the information of every servers in every Silkroad related forums and cause a massive effect, but I chose not to. It would destroy the game, the fun, and the economy. Given the fact that over 90% lvl 75+ bot, I don't think anyone would enjoy waking up one day and there's no one to engage in job wars, guild wars, thiefing hunting, pvping, etc. The fact is that a huge majority of people in this game bot (I don't believe this is a secret to anyone except people in their 1x and 2x where botting rates are low), and it increases expontential as they gain levels. And also from my interviews, about 95% of people are anti-bot before they become botters themselves. That is the main reason why most of the closeted self-proclaimed "legits" are not who you think they are. It's a sad fact but true. From PMs I get from people who play in Xian, it's funny as hell when people like "deReida" who I heard is in a well known legit guild... bots himself for 1000+ hours (then quit botting after he reach his desire level according to the logs lol) and then goes on a botting crusade... then blames it on a friend for botting 1000+ hours on his account and he has no idea... now that's just plain hilarious.

The same applies to the forum also, many people in this forum bot... many choose to keep it a secret or else they will get banned from the forum.... yet people here still public post confessions to being a current botter, a former botter, or will become a botter in the future (this one is creative lol). Heck, some even replied to my post here...I will not name who). Botting is a big issue that needs to be addressed since it's getting worse. Before I quit the game about two months ago due to other interests, I see many people who resorted to botting eveyday primarily to remain competitive in this game.

As for your account, I wish you good luck. Let me know what else you need in addition to 500m gold. Keep on updating us and don't listen to the poster advising you to keep quiet. The person you banned that PMed you that keylogging applet is probably reading this thread and laughing, but once he reads this thread and see how people are pitching in to help you get back on your feet, he won't be laughing so hard at you any longer.
