I was wondering if any1 from AC can help me :)

Well, today i was in my art class completing this project we were suppose to finish once we got back from xmas break

I finished mines early so I decided to sleep for abit :roll:

Eventually, I woke up at the right time to hear that my teacher was telling us that we were going to be doing art about surrealism or surreal art if ya'll prefer to call it that. well she told us what surreal art consist of and then she told us that she was going to take pictures of us next to a bright light lamp, so we all took pictures. Then, she said that we weren't going to be doing it with our pencils and drawing pad so i was like how else are we going to do it

Then, she said "You will all be doing your surreal art with a computer program called Photoshop." I was thinking in my mind "Yay i get to try photoshop like all the AC ppls do

" So she uploaded all the pictures to the computer and she said if anyone wants to, you can come up and use photoshop and get started on your surreal art. No one else wanted to so I said i'd give it a try and so I messed around with photoshop with the pic that she took of me. and let me tell ya, I have absolutely NO idea in what I was doing xD i did some wierd stuff and my pic looked totaly random :roll:

So I was wondering if some of you photoshop pro's or beginners, if ya'll can give me tips on like what to do so I can kind of understand how photoshop works

If ya'll can't explain it that much or at all, it's ok because I'll probably find out how photoshop works and stuff but I just wanted like some tips from you guys and gals of the AC

Could you upload your photo somewhere? So we can see it for ourselves? That way it'd be way easier to help you

i don't have it because it's on a school computer but if ya'll can maybe wait till next week for me to try and get it from my teacher's comp. but i won't have her class again until monday :/ i'll try my best to get it though.

EDIT: i just really wanted to know like what render or brushes or all that stuff does like make waves or brings the object in the pic out more but i'll try to get the picture

i also was wondering like how we add a stock or render or what not because it was my 1st time trying photoshop today :roll:

before you worry about all that fancy stuff you actually need to know what all the tools do first. i suggest googling photoshop beginner explanations. You must be pretty young if you've never touched photoshop before. In my school your required to take at least 1 year of tech and in tech class they always teach you about photoshop and CAD. But anyways yea...learn what the tools do first, that would be your first step. Afterwards you can move on to beginner tutorials such as changing the color on a picture or playing around with filters. so...ya...just look some up lol

yea i am young, only 16 >_< but yea, i'm not making a sig out of it though

just trying to make the picture look cool but without it being the size of a sig :roll:

Well I was never taught photoshop until I took a specific class for it in highschool. Anyways. I agree with all the above. If you can get your hands on the picture I'm sure we could help you out. And what Faiien said, get yourslef familiar with everything in photoshop and learn the basics first. Gotta learn how to crawl before you walk. If you get confused about any tools or have any questions feel free to PM me.
