Yeah I pretty much stopped caring about Christianity after I learned of the Inquisition. If you look at it, all it is is a huge tool to control people through fear and by offering false security.

On the other end though, some people can be happy with that sort of thing.

Gotta admit, the Inquisition was a completely dark time. I can't comprehend human beings doing those things in the name of God.

And no, I can't comprehend why people still do such things.

In terms of false security, not sure what you mean. If you believe in God and all his works, then you're sure you're going to Heaven. If you don't, then nothing's going to happen to you after you die.

It depends on your viewpoint. If you're ok with thinking once you're dead, there is nothing more, then what more is there to talk about?
