De-lvling Nukes

Post by hakage5 »

I'm a fire and light nuker. I currently have a lvl 7 Flame wave arrow, and a lvl 7 Wolf's thunderbolt. According to http://sro.mmosite.com/database/skills/ ... ng.shtml#6 and
http://sro.mmosite.com/database/skills/fire.shtml#6 , the requirement for the next book of nukes for fire is Flame wave-Arrow LV1. So can I use the Resuscitation potions to de-lvl my Flame wave arrow back to lvl 1 right? Would you recommend this move?

yes you can but look at the 3rd book. I believe you need the first book maxed in order to get it.

if you're a fire and light nuker try to upgrade your nukeskills to the maximum of your respective level. i wouldn't recommend delvling both your lvl7 firewave and lightningbolt, the more nukes you have with the highest potential damage count the better ;)

besides the 2nd book of the lightningbolt requires the first book to be maxed (level9), the first firewave book is just great for starters and combined with the second book (when both skills are maxed to your chars level) you can do some heavyduty damage

using the npc skill reset potions will also cost you a LOT of gold and will only return about 60 or 80% sp invested so imo not worth it. just keep leveling and pharm the sp necessary to add the 2nd book

get:

Fire:
book1 lvl 1
book2 MAXED
book3 lvl 1

lightning:
book 1 (keep lvling until lvl 50 lightning)
book 2 (stcik to book 2 once u hit lvl 50 lightning)

once u have those. use any extra sp to lvl up w/e u want

this is my opinion thou

Pshh.. If you can spare the SP then you should deffinately max all the nukes you can. Think of it this way.. the higher they are the more damage you can do. Not to mention you need the first light nuke book maxed before you can get the second.

Now, the fire books get a little tricky. Here is what I would do:

Code: Select all

Flame wave-Arrow - Max it
Flame wave-Burning - Max it
Flame wave-Wide - First Level

Now, here is why: When the first and second book are maxed they do more damage than when the third book is maxed. Here are the exact stats:

Code: Select all

Flame wave-Arrow     Lv 64     464~773 (250%)
Flame wave-Burning     Lv 69     548~913 (300%)  3/-35%
Flame wave-Wide     Lv 68     424~707 (300%)

IMO there are two things that are good about the third book. It hits up too 5 targets within a 6m range and it looks mad cool.

why on earth would you max so many nukes?

at most i would see someone leveling 3 nukes. MAYBE.

most use 2, 1 while the other cools down..

prime choices being light2 and fire2, because they deal the highest dmg.

==
fire1 when it is your level does not do as much dmg as light 2 or fire3

fire3 takes a little longer to cast and has a longer recharge time than fire 2.

light1 is pointless when you have light 2 because it does low, LOW dmg when you're at that level.

the only reason people would level other nukes (meteor and ice storm) is cuz it looks cool.

do the percentages dude, 3rd book outdamages 1st by 200 points.

fire1 max dmg ( 773 ) X 250% = 1932.5
fire2 max dmg ( 707 ) X 300% = 2121

lol, considering if you're guarding 3 5* oxes, even at lvl 70, in a hunter suit, being a nuker, you will get owned by 30 thieves, especially with all the blocks, and ice (ooh the annoying ice)

fire 3 has a looong (annoyingly) long casting time

on trade runs, i find it more efficient to use my light2 nuke, then aim for a thief near the outisde and use fire2 ( cuz it hits 3 things at once)

== edit

when i talk about this stuff i talk about as you level up
when you hit cap and sp farm, get whatever you want, but IMO, fire2 and light2 are enough to grind hard and pvp hard until you get tothat level

The first book fire nuke is useful for a few reasons. It has a faster recast time than the other two fire nukes and it only hits one mob. It's the only skill that a lot of INT players can use when fighting uniques above or around their own level, otherwise they get smished.

The first book lightning nuke has to be maxed to get the second, so it's a moot point, BUT it's also a very valuable asset for hunting when damage does not matter because your targets all die in one hit.

lol i meant that no lvl 60 hunter is going to be guarding 3 5* oxes. that's suicide. so i assumed you meant you were higher level than the traders.

yea, thats a very good point, however you would only have 1 attack to use. (every other nuke has AOE) unless you have the ice nuke1. so you wouldn't get the kill, just would be able to leech some exp.
