Want some advise about build for GNGWC

Hey guys,

In about 10 days I have to come up with a build for the GNGWC at Gardena, CA.
I only have a char at lvl 67 so I don't know how different build are played at cap.

I believe I will be given a lvl 81 char, and I can build it anyway I can.

So what do you think I should do:

My thought so far:
1.Full Str Bow:
a. Bow:81
b. Fire: 81
c. Ice: 80
d. Light: 58
2. Hybrid Spear: 85% mag balance naked:
a. Spear:81
b. Fire: 81
c. Ligh: 80
d. Ice: 58

I know that each of us have different opinion about build and for sure the participant in the events will not reveal his/her build but I'd like some though from you guys.

Also, if you have personal experience with Bow please share: how do you grind, pvp...

You know, that video only tells ppl that they have 30 mins to get the best drops they can with sos> sosun drops all the time. It doesn't really mean much.

I don't think you should be telling people your build ideas though since there are plenty of GNGWC participants that will read this. And if they know who you are, they will make sure their builds can kill yours.

well, I know that and that's why cuch or other people won't tell their build

but I don't care too much...I am just happy that I make it to the second round..an excuse to have a mini vacation and going down to Socal

and if people gear their build toward defeating me then I am honor haha... and it's not like I will build it exactly like I describe

i think just based on the skills at the present 80 cap bow would be a good choice

Second round as far as I understand.
Ppl get lv81 characters free stat points to build.
Npc set.
Locked in the cave.
Time limit.
Free to kill anyone.
Uniques summoned in rooms.
Every drop is sos to sosun.
Build your gear from drops.
....

Kills of ppl add points / kills of uniques adds point / kills add point.

Int and int based hybrid died fast. Glavie killed them 1 hit if no snow shield.
Str-s ganged all int nukers.
No bladers/ no bow users.
...

Plain simple everyone went full str glavie to be able to tank and kill in aoe fater.
Typical ksro build.
Just ghost spear books, and use other skill in other players.
str/glavie/ice/light/whatever else

Whoever did not follow build, well you see them face down in the video.

get 60 ice 80 light 80 fire 80 heuksal

1 mastery doesnt worth loosing a book of snow shield + 60 passive of ice.

or maybe there is new book or skill at 81? or does it stop at 80 like isro?

yup...from the video, pure str glavie is really good. Nukers died very easy cuz no blue for hp.

Well, my advice is to firstly only put your mastery to 80. Unless there is a new skill. 1% of damage won't make a difference however, a new book of snow shield (if the lower mastery is ice) and upgraded passive will.

Heavy strength hybrid or pure strength for these competitions will be better because if you die, the other person will get points... so you don't wanna die. Strength bow (hybrid or pure) would be my choice, particularly with these new skills. Bows are ideal at hunting uniques.

As a bow, i would choose 80fire 80 pacheon 80 lightning and 60 ice.
With the max lightning , people will not be able to catch you. So you can run from people you wish not to fight and just hunt the uniques. Also have snow shield for when you are versing someone who can beat you or if you're about to die, use it and run.

Just as a tip for when killing Yarkan. Seeing as you may be doing it alone, use only non-AOE attacks. Like, strong bow - anti devil bow - arrow combo. Also if you do not attack any of the first spawns then only like 7? hunters and snipers will attack you. Then later on no elites will attack and kill you. That way, you should be able to tank yarkan solo without dieing.

Another tip, if you can smother yourself in unique spawns then no opposing player will be able to attack you because they can't click you... giving you the opportunity to just kill the unique in peace.

Buy a drug of typhoon also if you are in town. essential.
@Evil_Venom - GNGWC was for the selected people only, who won the first round.

Will you be fighting with a team mate? or is it solo?
Do uniques give good points? or should you only be hunting people? o.O knowing the amount of points for each objective would be handy.

my thought on this is

pick 4 masterys total

for pure str build - i recommonde to max out fire and cold , no need for light cuz ur not gona be running alot itz pvp

,

pick glaive or bow, dont pick blade ( you wont be able to kill )

^^^^ in another thought blade might win the competition,

what if u make a cold fire blader with light, and u get a sosun sheild as a drop during the 30min they give u :roll:

, think about it u will be invincible
no one will be able to kill you , u might be able to win the competition :wink:

, i wonder if this is possible

Force 80 Fire 80 Bich 80 Cold 60 full str blader.

Since you will be relying on base weapons, and survive against other players, you will need a tank. With a high BR sun shield, and a high crit sun blade, you will be great at tanking. Use Prot, as you have fairly equal phy and mag dmg. Make sure you max out the force passive, as it will let you use mana shielf effectively. With this build, you will be able to outdmg, and outtank any str char, and obviously if you can out tank a str char,you can out tank an int char.

Since you lack the lightning tree, bow users with it will be at an advantage over you for parts of the fight. All you have to do is get to them once, though, and they will be down for the fight. KD is nice like that. Lightning chain and cast the last 3 spells of vital spot to more than double your dmg on them, and increase your tanking ability even more. ALWAYS start with the one that lowers their atk power.

Getting the Therapy series allows you to hunt uniques without worrying about unique spawned monsters - and everyone knows that a blade killing a pt giant or unique you're killing makes getting hits off on it a royal pain. KD ftw

here's my build if I was going...but something came up & wont be able to go

pure str

lvl 81 glaive
lvl 73 blade
lvl 81 fire
lvl 65 light

you will pretty much need to get used to dual weilding...

main round will consist of pve & pvp, for pve you'll basically just be using glaive to kill mobs (keep in mind, a str glaive's dmg is nearly as high as a pure int)...

for pvp you will be starting out with blade/shield & try to put on bleed/division on ur opponent

once u accomplish that goal, you can than change to glaive to deliver the finishing blows

skills to use
-start with 4th book strike & smash
-then lightning chain
-then 4th book strike & smash again
(they will most likely get bleed)
-switch to glaive
-throw around some emperors & sss
-then gsm for the finisher

you will be doing a lot of dmg

survivability wise, you will survive very will, since you can just switch to blade/shield & will be quite unkillable doing the 15sec phy (or mag. def) buffs...not to mention you can/should kd once in a while to pot up again

***only switch to glaive when opponent has gotten bleed/division***

from word of mouth, it'll be a 2v2 kind of battle, & from exp, a blader is still hard to kill when u only have another person with you to hit him/her.

just a build that I would've made if I didn't have something to do & got the chance to go, but some1 will be going in my place

keep in mind this is a competition build & would not be practical at any higher lvl caps, dont use it in game or you'll be in trouble when 90cap+ comes

Most ppl don't understand it

It's not pvp mainly.
It is for points.

Killing uniques and normal mobs will give points.
Faster killing more killing more points.

Bow : no aoe / sniping
You won't collect enough points

Blader : might can tank more then others but can't kill fast
You won't collect enough points.

Glavie: last books of ghost spear in a small room with agro mobs
uniques and spawns ...

No maxed light tree : everyone will just hit you and you won't catch anyone after.

Maxed fire: str so that increased dmg makes you lose extra protection.

Well I want to watch the isro gngwc for sure

I really wonder what build will win the 2. round.

ps.: If ppl get from the new pills too forget the status effect from blade

ps.2: I would recommend to go and practise the usage of "Z" key

You will need it when 100-s of sos boxes on the floor to spot what gear you need.
If you don't find the sosun gear fast enough ... dead meat.

Joymax say they will give the rule nearer to the competition...I hope sooner than later so I have time to come up with battle plan....

Just stfu and quit already, he can't help it that he has personal problems to deal with. .. Oh and as for your no light build GG to that.

Mag buff still helps str players, and so will running around looking for uniques. Incompetent people .. sometimes....

Have a couple build ideas in mind when you get to the competition and once you find out the rules, pick the one that will be best tailored to the competition.
