another bow question

Post by urtoasty »

ok, im lvl 21, ive done a hybrid so far, 2 str and 1 int, and i want to start going pure str so i do a little more damage and my crits are better. Will that mess my char up any or am I still able to correct it and keep going. I want him to be a support char but I want him to be desent in PvP. Excpecially when Im doing trade runs or hunting. Remember I am doing bow and dont talk to me about switching cause I know that crap already. Any comments or questions?

for going "pure" it is too late. pure is the term for chars
that put all their points in to either str or int from the
beginning. the good thing is that you started off as a
hybrid str char and not int, for int hybrid bow seems to
fail in being a strong build, especially in the high levels.

since you will be a support char, it is good that you have
put points into int. i am not sure how many points you
should have put into int, but i hear that the build with
70/70 physical/magical balance (to be seen in your char
information screen) is a decent build that can do reasonably
well in pvp and has enough int to do good dmg with imbue.

as a support char, i can imagine you will use the force tree
as a sub. i would say, for pvp, take fire as a main, which is
the stronges of imbues and has some buffs for increasing
your physical damage. this can help you compensate some
of the str that you lack.

take fire and pacheon as main, force as sub and the rest
is up to you. being a support char means leveling will not
be as fast or as easy as an offensive build, but i think you
did the right thing in choosing bow. if you get your balances
right, you should be able to kill mobs before they get to you.

and you are absolutely right in stating you will not change
weapon. you will not be the first (succesful) support bow.

That was also myquestion..... I put in 1 stat point to int in the beginning, so that's 26 for me and everything else is str.

But, I have a question.... Since we're here and opening a new thread is >_>;;;

QUeSTION:

I plan on having all of the Bow related skills and I wanted to have some fire power. Now, my question is..... Do I need a lot of int to make flame related attacks stronger? I would assume so, but I read in some places that it's like automatic extra dmg or something.... Or some reason, I can't come up with a clear answer, lol.....

cin,
the only problem is, is that im using ice. So, i dont get hit as much by the monsters and its kind of the same support since ice slows down but fire does more damage, but thanks for your input and answering my questions.

Tyzue,
its still force, and all force skills need int to do a lot more damage. They are all magical. But i dont know if that answered your question or not but thats what i got.

Bow should be STR base so i would add all on STR from here on, but those that you put on INT will make imbue stronger.

will you cry if you're not a "pure?" if so then remake your character. If you don't care what some people think then do what you want. Pure isn't the stable best build for bow so just do what you want and don't be brainwashed by people who have pure chars.

Flame is meant to support physical attack and defense.
the fire imbue is the strongest of all imbues. you do not
have to put more points in int if you want to make good
use of the fire tree.

the only things in that tree that need lots of int to do you
any good is the nukes, which you shouldnt get as a bow
anyway, since bow doesnt have high magical attack of
itself.

the rest of the fire skills are useful for any str or str based
build.
