The best-seller lists--which are based on GfK Australia sales data from January 1, 2006 to December 31, 2006--charted the top games by genre, although GfK declined to disclose specific sales figures or an overall top-seller.

Australia's best-selling games for 2006 are listed below. Figures take into account sales across all platforms for a particular game, and are based on overall sales value and not quantity sold.

Best-Selling Role Playing Game
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Nintendo

Best-Selling Action
Lego Star Wars 2, Activision

Best-Selling Racing
Need for Speed Carbon, EA
