Requirments - video and sound card help

Post by Zaine »

I'm going to download silkroad but before i do i need to get a video card.

I was wondering if any1 could recommend a good but affordable video card, and COULD SOME1 PLZ SPECIFY ON WHAT '3D speed over GeForce4 Ti' - what does this mean - do i need an nvida 1 and how much vram does it need - if i'm not getting nvida then what specifications?

Also....

It says with sound, a direct x compatiable card - well i already have direct x installe don my pc, do i need to get a sound card that can use it or something

Sorry if the questions sound a bit newbie, plz don't flame me

ty

I have an nVidea 6200, a cheap card(costed me about 40euros), and I can play SRO at highest graphics. BUT, I dont have shadow detail at hioghest, because then it is not going well :P

ATI is overall the best card as for power and price efficiency.
It's also great if you're using your computer for media/modding etc.

Nvidia is used mostly by gamers.

I'm having an ATI myself (ATI Radeon X550), but I still prefer Nvidea. :)

Well, the more you pay, the better the quality, counts for both nvidea and ati ;)

Actuall I think a graphic card from price 50 euros from nvidea has almsot same quality as a 50euro card from ati..

You can never say ATI is beter nor worse than Nvidia, both have their advantages and disadvantages. Both work better in different mother-boards or with a computer.

Try gettin the Nvidia 7 series 512Mb graphics card(thats if your a hardcore gamer and willing to spend that kinda doh), otherwise, get the Nvidia 6 series 256 mb graphics card(NVidia 6600 to be precise)

Ok so i went to the store to get a card and they didn't have any nvida in the type i need - plc connection. So the only one that they had was a

ATI Radeo Sapphire 9250 Graphics card - it had 64/125 bit memory interface and can supprot dx9 - but only like 125mb

--- will this be good enough to run silkroad or not plz?

- also any tips for the begining of silkraod and loading it up or maybe fitting the card?
