item drop semi-randomness

Post by zonas_jaf »

once i hit level 22 i got the idea to go kill Hyungno Ghost since they are level 24 and thereforce in the next weapon degree. i want to collect gear for my next few levels.

first time.
used my sword and shield, swapped between ice and fire imbue. id kill a ghost in 10 to 12 seconds no special attacks. almost no drops, very little gold even.

second time
used my glaive, fire imbue. did 2 special attacks per ghost to 2-hit them. almost everyone of them dropped gold and within 15 minutes i got a lvl 24 blue bow.

so at this point im wondering, how is the drop formula calculated. from my basic data collection so far it seems to be more damage per second = more drop.

Almost every monster drops gold, there's a better chance of monster dropping items when they are white/silver or green to you. Damage doesn't seem to make a difference. Whether I 1 shot monsters or 2 hit them the drop rate doesn't change much.

A sample based on 10 minutes of grinding isn't enough to make any type of determination. Hyungos and flowers seem to have decent drop rates in general.

well it was an hour of grinding on each wep... in the hour of using a glaive i got 2 level 24 bows. in the hour of blading i got nothing and id get gold once every 5 ghosts or so. with the glaive id get gold drops 4 out of 5 ghosts.

in the grand scheme of things an hour is nothing. I don't even want to know how many hours I've played. Drops are pretty random.
