Re: Path of Exile
Yeah the patches and support they provide to this game is brilliant. I don't have much time to play because of University but I really do enjoy playing the game. I'm pretty poor but I still buy micro transaction points just because I want to support the developers. Oh, and premium tabs are pretty cool too I suppose

Re: Path of Exile
I noticed Twilliger was playing after release so it reminded me of this thread. Figured it deserved a bump seeing as the game was just released with a bunch of new content.

Re: Path of Exile
Yeah I'm playing it again now that the game has been fully released. It's really good, I'm playing in the Nemesis league (its a hardcore league) and really enjoying it. I think I'm lvl 49 or so now, Act 3 Cruel. The new content is great and the added Nemesis mods add a lot of challenge. The new Act 3x boss fight was friggen epic! PoE is my game of choice atm

I am, recently got a Hearthstone ket so I've been playing that for the past few days but I'll be back in probably a few day when I'm not drunk/hungover. Really don't want to REEEEEP right now.

I play on Nemesis but haven't been gaming lately due to life complications. I'll be back eventually, though.

Re: Path of Exile
A bit of a necro but hey, it deserves it. Anyone other than me and Twilliger play this? Both play it rather regularly so would love to add a few more to that list.

Re: Path of Exile
Yeah, depending on where it is in the season I'm on almost daily. Twilliger tends to be on a little less but still quite often. Might change now that he died on his main character

Re: Path of Exile
Anyone else playing this league?`
Figure some of you guys might have checked the game out again with the massive expansion.

Re: Path of Exile
I played this game for a little while I think, like 2 or 3 years ago.
How is the community? Lots of people, or ghost towns?
I might give this another shot some time next week.. But I haven't
really got any time to play much. So would just be logging on / playing
every once in a while..

Re: Path of Exile
According to steam it seams to be stable at around 40ish thousand concurrent players, not that PoE has a standalone client as well so it isn't tracking those numbers. The release of 3.0 a few weeks ago saw a big surge in players and the new season is only a few weeks old. I guess I'm saying no, it's not a ghost town
The biggest change right now is that they completely redid the leveling experience. There are no longer three difficulties that you have to go through like in Diablo. Instead it's just 10 acts, one playthrough.

Some would say I'm too big on it but have no idea what they're on about. *cough* 4000 hours played on steam alone *cough*

It's a shit game. D3 has necromancers. PoE doesn't.

Re: Path of Exile
I'm thinking about the giving the game another try.
I have a difficult time getting into this type of ARPG's though, but I did kinda like PoE when I tried it previously. I like the setting and visuals a lot, so that helps.
For some reason I always get tired of these kinds of games before I can get to the good parts. And since I'm not much of a minmaxer my experience with these games is probably very far from what its supposed to be :[
When I look on twitch I see people decimating groups of monsters with a single spell, and meanwhile there I am with my rogue/shadow in act 2 or 3, dual striking mobs one by one with life leech claws :S
I always get the feeling I'm playing these games completely wrong :/

This is definitely a game that only gets really fun when you hit the 50s/60s and started chaining skills and blowing up the screen.

Re: Path of Exile
I'm already enjoying it more than I previously was though.
Installed it yesterday and wiped my old characters. Made a new Shadow character and have progressed towards the end of act 1.
Ol3n got in contact with me immediately and helped me get a smoother start with picking decent skills and whatnot. It's definitely more fun when you can watch lots of things explode, instead of 1v1~ing everything.
Was playing this morning and my game crashed right as Brutus dropped his loot
(had like 2-3 yellows too...)

Re: Path of Exile
Nice looking char @Dom
How long have you been building it?
I'm downloading the game through steam right now.
Don't really have time to play these days so probably
will just log on and add some of the IGN's in this topic.
I saw in the trailer that there are now 10 acts?
If I remember correctly there were only 3 or 4 acts when I
played this lol. Really looking forward to playing this again
mainly because the gameplay really made me feel like it's a
casual game, while the difficulty made it quite hardcore.

Re: Path of Exile
I remember playing this for few days when it was in beta then never coming back to it. Maybe it's time to give it real try.
