Unplayable IMO. Very disappointing for a 2014 release. Had very low expectations going in, and it looks and feels like it was made back in 2006.

The new fighting animations suck.

Doesn't anyone else think that the Original SRO looks way better than this peace of shit?

So.... yeah.
I don't even know what to say. I'm disappointed there won't be a SRO2 by Joymax, even though they farked up in many regards with the first game.
Two things they got right though: The combat and the graphics. They were astonishingly good for a game from 2005. The content may have been crap, there was no real end game and botting was farked up.

Let's compare it objectively to this. Animations are *very clunky*, nowhere near as smooth as the ones in SRO. It looks like they have improved the trading and quests, good. But the graphics and art is worse than SRO's and honestly, 9 years into the future you can expect more than that.
MMOs released today compete with titles like ESO, GW2 and TERA, all of which are graphically vastly superior to this title. It doesn't look bad, but if I had to choose I'd not go with Legend of Silkroad.
You can see they copied a lot of gameplay elements from the first game apart from the back story, but why, OH WHY, did they have to go with the same crude English. It can't be that hard to hire a native english speaker to read over every text someone translates and make it not sound like complete rubbish.

/rant

So if this is what SRF is playing the coming years, so long suckas
Still hoping for Joymax to buy back rights and do it right.

I don't think you have to worry about SRF as a whole playing LoS...Our standards have risen considerably from 9 years ago....

Yeah, no one completely ruins and exploits games for money so perfectly the way good old Joymax does (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ

Well, maybe Overkill and their complete lack of support for consoles.

Kinda disappointed... I was looking forward to a new silk road online... This just looks like a shitty copy. Maybe it will get better... but from what i've seen that is just a joke. I wish Joymax didn't **** up as bad as they did, I still have very fond memories of smashing on silkroad after i got home from school.

Literally smashing because combat and PVP were so one dimensional all you had to do was stand there and faceroll your keyboard to win.

The new Silkroad is ArcheAge , cryengine 3 , and better triangular conflict then silkroad , also the economy in the game is driven by players , and also you can build your own house/castle in the open world :D .

I played it, and yes some things have been improved, such as the frame rates. As in: the game has been given an optimization overhaul.

Anyway, in one of my videos, I actually talk briefly about the changes that have been made since the closed beta.:

I'm still not impressed... Seeing the games that are out right now and the others that are just on the horizon, this SRO2 or whatever you wanna call it is a step backwards not forwards...That's the impression I am still getting...

I wish I had the answer, but I actually don't. Now that I'm through my exams I hope I'll get some more time to update the blog with info on this and other questions. I'll just have to find the answer first, though :)

Aaand shut down. That didn't take long.

Dear LOS members,
This is LOS team.

It is with a heavy heart that today we must inform you that on December 31st, 2014, JC Planet will shut down the servers for Legend of Silkroad according to developer’s difficulty. Also, forum and the website will be closed to players by then.

Although this was a very difficult decision to discontinue, we believe this will allow us to focus on servicing new and engaging games. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and understanding.

We look forward to seeing you again in our other games!

Sincerely,
LOS Team
