Anime Movies
So, trying to dabble a bit in anime for the first time. Looking for some good anime movies for a newbie. Any suggestions?
Also, **** subtitles. So English BS only, please. =]

Re: Anime Movies
Spirited Away is a good place to start movie wise anyway. For a series i would suggest cow boy bebop. It's a space western, with bounty hunters and the whole lot, pretty good, and isn't you typical anime cutesy stuff.

Speaking of spirited away, anything by Studio Ghibli is fantastic and you really can't go wrong with them. Also try the Ghost in the Shell movies, they are a great entry level into the actual series. I guess I should pay tribute to Akira as well ^_^

I don't know if Redline ever had a dub, but it's 7 years worth of hand drawn images totaling around 100k

Re: Anime Movies
Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle...well, pretty much most of the Studio Ghibli collection. Especially the ones by Hayao Miyazaki.
If you want a little more action, Ghost in a Shell or Karas.

Re: Anime Movies
Porco Rosso is an amazing film, I can second that motion.
Although it's not to everyone tastes, my favorite Studio Ghibli film is Grave of the Fireflies. It tells such a beautiful, yet tragically sad, story and I find it physically difficult to sit through the entire film without breaking down. All the feels man, all the feels.

Off the top of my head, I'd say you should check out Paprika and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Not sure if they were dubbed but how about you stop being lazy and watch it in the language the directors intended them to be watched in.

Re: Anime Movies
Never.
(P.S. You're cute when you pretend to act all tough.)

Oh yeah Break/Broken Blade. Break is the grorious nippon title and Broken is a title that makes sense. This one has a dub.. but English voice actors are shitty.

Not sure about the "Girl Who Leapt..." but I'm a bit intrigued by Paprika. Saw on the Anime section once but completely forgot about it. I'll check it out.
The only studio Ghibli movie..well, 2 ofthem that disappointed me was Tales from Earthsea and Whisper of the Heart. Also I've never seen My Neighbor the Yamadas.
edit:
Saw Paprika last night. Amazing film but I still find morbidly obese people disgusting. That's about the main thing I found disturbing in that movie.
