Maconha - So you don't like that the character you choose doesn't restrict you to playing a certain way and show others just by looking how you like to play? Personally I like that you don't have to restrict yourself to a certain look with a certain style. In FFXI you can't be very good at magic without being a weak pathetic little midget thing. That is lame.

Stallowned - First of all, very clever name. I'm with you all the way. Graphics do not make a game.

Chaud - Little kids played at the library because I started playing there to escape the 56k connection at my house. What it has over SRO is that you don't have to choose a path. You can be good at everything. SRO restricts you, which makes the game interesting, but a bit frustrating when you decide you want to change your mind or if you accidentally level up a skill you shouldn't have.

sunny rays - That isn't Runescape any more. The damage is still understated because they don't inflate the numbers to make you think that bigger things are happening than really are. The highest hp you can have is 99, and there is nothing really different about that and having a maximum of 10,000. They're just numbers. Anyway, even when Runescape was like that, there were plenty of people willing to pay 5 dollars a month to play more of it. Now it looks better thanks to us.

Desolator - There is no bad reason to ban a cheater. If you sold rs gold for real money, then I am glad you no longer play. People like you ruin the game with your greed.

Silkroad = too lenient

Runescape = worst graphics
Silkroad = best graphics

Runescape = cheaper (membership and depends)
Silkroad = expensive (silk and depends)

Runescape = browser game
Silkroad = a real comp game

Runescape = very good game play
Silkroad = okay game play but needs work

Runescape = older
Silkroad = newer

Runescape = more hated
Silkroad = more liked

Runescape = appearence for little kids
Silkroad = appearence more for teens+

I can live with most of what you said.. even though I don't really get the "real comp game" part, but.
Wtf do you mean how a game looks appeals to whatever age group.
In fact I've met many more adults 20-30+ on runescape than on SRO. Maybe it's because there's more players, I don't know, but I don't understand how the appearance has to do with little kids or teens or old farts or whatever.

I tried Runescape 5 years ago, didn't like the gameplay. I rather play Nethack/Adom with ascii graphics than play Runescape. Graphics aren't important to me, gameplay is. Maybe Runescape has become more complex and better over the years but I won't try it again.

Silkroad on the other hand (currently) is like Diablo 2 with 3D graphics, it's about hack'n'slash mixed with some job elements. Quests are simple, equipment level locked and alchemy is straightforward process - just like it was in Diablo. Gameplay is good so you get addicted to it easilly and you don't have to think about any complex rpg/puzzle stuff. When I get bored in other strategy games / rpgs to that complex stuff, I come to SRO to hack'n'slash some monsters

WHat you said could be reasonable, if your so called "hack'n'slash" wasn't just press 1 *character does some corny attack* press 2 *character does another corny attack* press 5 *character attacks again killing whatever monster you were attacking* repeat 10000 times daily for months.

First off I used to play runescape. Played for about 1 and a half years....6 days of being a member left atm. I got most of the hardest skills in the game very high. I also got the "Fire Cape" when you kill the highest lvl monster in the game (lvl 702). I am combat lvl 120 out of 126. O btw 99 is the highest each skill goes to. Everyone either wants 85 slayer or 91 runecrafting because those are the 2 big money making skills. I have both of them but have 93 runecrafting and 87 slayer. Was 133ed to 91 runecrafting....did it over last X-mas break. You cant really compare the 2 games....one is 5 years old and is a web browser game and SRO is not lol. Anways I guess I could post a pic of my runescape stats....RSN is dp_crazy.

This is all true now. But a few months ago there was a tree cutting bot. Here is the congo line of them in action...about this many or more on the 50+ free servers so I think you get what happend to the price of those yew logs lol. Also very funny is when ever a player mod or jagex mod spoke all of them logged out and either switched worlds or came back in same world 5 mins. later.

wen there was the guild inspection i was dead bored and went on RS after i had abondened my char for about a year... so i log in and i find a bunch of food in my chars inventory... i take him to a place wer there wer hob goblins, an area that was very poky and lots of goblins around...
on RS there was an auto attack function, and it had already been activated... so i left my char in this areaq while i ran downstairs to get a book... as soon as i came up i find my char fighting a goblin...
i leveled up my chars str about twice in a like 2hrs...
all i needed to do was make him eat food every so often so he ddnt die...

all there needs to be is an "auto potion" function(as we know it in sro) and thats it.... u've got yourself a bot...
i wasnt afraid to do it coz theres no way to see if sum1 is botting on RS...

also... rs has only ONE thing that is better than sro...
and that is the ability to shift to any server by still using the same char...

PS: I NEVER BOTTED ON SRO AND I NEVER WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They started out just as simple macros recording one click on a rock and another click on another rock and would repeat.
Then they became more complex and would walk from __ location to __ location and do __ skill.
There are also chat bots which are blatantly obvious in densely populated selling areas spamming a long chat line full of colors and effects every second.

ok the Farking differents between RS2 and SRO are

#1 RS2s graphic sucks balls- u cant even see the face
#2 u lose almost all ur stuff when u die.....thats just annoying
#3 u cant Pk anywhere out the city when u are in only in the wild
#4 u dont get rewarded for XP if u finish a quest u just get boooring quest point
#5 curse word like dick, ass, retard,dumb, bastard are all blocked, so if u want to swear at some one u have to change the spelling
#6 RS2 have a member area and a non member area, so basicly u never get as good as a member unless u pay 5 bucks amonth
#7 dont even promote RS2 on this server, i came from RS2 5 days ago and i got a lvl 93 chatacter name Stealth_X1. so dont tell ppl what they know about RS2. i quit cuz i account was hacked and ppl have money scamming tool in the game.
#8 SRO is much more fun cuz the character dont looks like a 100 year dool with out a face. as least they look cool in some way.
#9 RS2 dont have jobs or special stuff, and making money is just plain hard
#10 u lvl really really slow in RS2 u get so many different skills its impossible to train
#11 u cant make much money unlessur above lv50 in RS2 or u have either wood cutting, crafting, or Rune crafting in high 60 ot 70s u cant do shit
#12 fighting is just boooring as shit, u swing ur sword once and the other swing back, nothing different at allllll!!!!!!!
#13.....im not gonna keep going just think about it......RS2 sucks monkey's balls

idk wat exactly its called, but when your char gets under attack, it automatically starts beating the mob that is fightning u...

hey someone made another good point. Runescape is like 90% little kids! And in SRO you have to actually try to find somebody saying things stupid enough to be under 16 lol. In RS I'd say my age (19) and people would be like wtf and here I'm younger than a lot of players

Also, in RS when you die, your life savings is gone! You lose everything but your most expensive 3 items based on their stupid value rating. It's just about impossible to put on all your best armor and weapons and go do anything. That's why everyone hates the game. In SRO, you can buy a 7 million gold weapon and actually use it with all your armor on. Wtf is the point of buying expensive stuff you can't use? Runescape can burn in hell.
And I couldn't appeal my ban because I had nothing to prove my side of the story. Sucks too cuz my account was worth over $2000 according to Ebay.

Started in the really early days...man that game was so fun for so long lol.

Graphics are one thing of many when grading a game.

Oh I forgot to mention Jagex actually knows of the concept of customer service.
