I could swear Dark Knight came out in 2008 :|

Worst:

Dragonball, I haven't even seen this shit, but I have the common sense to know its the worst movie of 2009. I don't even have to list the other movies cause Dragonball just outshits all of them.

I don't make a habit of watching bad movies so i rarely see any. I did see New Moon so i guess thats my worst of 2009 and it really was terrible...Lautner is hot though...

yeah why do you think it made $1.1 billion at the box office? TBH though, I think most are just jumping on the bandwagon. The graphics are very very impressive and its worth watching. but the storyline? Its like dances with wolves in space. lameeee

Agreed. From what I've heard, alot of people fell asleep during the movie, I know I nearly did. The graphics were great, but I don't think this is setting a trend for future movies, or at least I hope not. I don't wanna deal with more "My Bloody Valentine 3D."

3d movies suck, they look so cheesy

slumdog millionaire was a good movie, it wasn't corny at all. I felt that the timeline was sequenced correctly, I liked the ending. Epic death + nice ending. Only thing I didn't like was the little mini musical in the ending.
What was that song about that a girl was about the airplanes.

TDK was rereleased in 2009 hoping to score more money off Oscar hype so while it wasn't originally released in 2009 technically it did come out again in 2009. I guess choosing it as my #1 is a bit of a cop-out but while i liked all the other films i listed none of them had the same kind of TDK impact. Like i said though they're all very good and picking the obvious best out of the bunch is hard, my favorite would be easy but best....hmm that would be difficult.

Also at all the people bashing Avatar, it certainly wasn't a snorefest. Movies don't break those kinds of records being a snorefest so get that garbage out of here. As for comparing it to Dances With Wolves Jstar, i have a strong feeling that you've read that somewhere else and have never seen Dances With Wolves for yourself. So regardless of the merit of the comment you sound like a parrot. At people complaining about the 3D i almost feel as if you haven't seen it or if you have you weren't watching close enough. Avatar doesn't use 3D like most movies do, as a gimmick. If you look a most shots with and without your glasses you'll realize that he uses 3D to literally add the 3rd dimension of Depth to his shots. Using this technique really adds a different element to his film.

If you didn't like it i can understand that especially when it comes to movies but on everything except for story this movie is so technically perfect that for someone to just laugh at it and go "LOL 3D my bloody valentine" borderlines on insulting Films as an art because really this movie was a technical masterpiece, it'd be like calling the paintings at the Sistine Chapel doodles on the wall...like no matter how much you don't like it, if you can't even appreciate something like that chances are you simply don't appreciate the art itself and therefore your opinions on it are somewhat void....

Yes, it was technically perfect, as most James Cameron movies are. And the angles Jame's Cameron uses are almost exclusive to him. If anyone else were to attempt this it would fail terribly. This is why I say that I hope 3D is not a trend directors start to follow because one movie became a blockbuster for it.
That being said; this was quite a snorefest, aside from the great effects, I did not want to watch 2 and a half hours of how humans just consume, consume, consume and have little to no appreciation for the planet.
If not for the 3D aspect, I don't think this movie would have done as well.
PS: Sorry, but I felt your comment seemed very directed at me with the My Bloody Valentine comment :P
PPS: it's just my personal opinion so chill :P

TDK is so awesome, I'd still put it at the best list for 2010.

the storyline in dances with wolves was basically the same as avatar but it was crafted better so that it wasn't so maudlin and trite as it was in avatar. And the political commentary in avatar was way too bald. Cameron might as well come out in the middle of a scene and tell the viewers that we need to stop polluting the earth and treat nature with respect. Now theres nothing wrong with this belief but come on, avatar just oozes with that theme the whole time.

Let's all be honest, the only dialogue in Avatar that wasn't crap was the underlying sex jokes. Luls, horse taming.

I can't believe that someone liked 2012.

But it's fun to see how much peoples opinnions on movies vary.
