Which Laptop should I Get
Hey Guys.. I am having trouble deciding between 2 laptops. I am looking for something media/school related, but I want to be able to handle games like Counter-Strike 1.6 and Silkroad for when I visit relatives and etc.. My 2 choices are a HP Pavilion or an Acer Aspire.
Here are the links:

or

Could you tell me what would suit my needs better (as stated above) and maybe give an explanation why?
Thanks for your input.
Ryan1166.

Hp don't have much of a long life, just fyi. But between those 2, I'd choose the hp unless you want to add a good graphics card to the acer to make up for the integrated card.
This: Integrated Video Memory Yes
Made me say no to the acer. The hp has less RAM, but I prefer something with a graphics card that is able to handle things without siphoning my RAM until it crashes all together. Honestly though, if SRO and 1.6 is all you're gonna be doing, Either should be fine.

Alright, thanks for the advice man. Do you think it would be able to handle CS Source? because I have it but I don't play it because this computer is running like shit nowadays.

I'm running 2 gig ram, and 256 dedicated graphics card, i can run any game fine. L4d2 lags a little bit depending on my ping.
When I say any game, I meant the ones listed there =P

The HP one because of its dedicated video card =) But I'd usually go for a Acer over an HP .

I bought an Acer laptop myself and it's killing me. It keeps over-heating I bought it for gaming + mobility and I can't even game on it anymore.

Wow, I have no idea which two laptops everyone else is looking at, but both computers have dedicated video cards. The Acer is marginally better than the HP in that respecet as well.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeF ... 360.0.html
And, you can't change a gpu in a laptop.
I hate both companies so I have no real opinion on these two, but you can find a much better computer than those two elsewhere, such as:
Dell Inspirion 15, upgraded to an ATI 4330 w/6cell battery is about the same price
http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/ ... WZA1&s=dhs
Key thing to look at when buying a laptop for gaming is the video card and processor since neither can be upgraded (sometimes the cpu can be changed, but most of the time it's unlikely, unfortunately). Hard drive and ram can always be altered later (unless you buy a MBP which means you're screwed from the beginning).
BTW, don't forget about your free copy of Win 7 if you buy a Vista laptop before the end of January.

Re: Which Laptop should I Get
You'll be screwed with both computers, they both have integrated cards and you can pretty much forget *enjoying* gaming with that.
I bought an HP Pavilion dv something for 700 Euros in Germany, and that was a very good deal. I'm satisfied with HP, it's a good brand, and games are running fine. Just vista's bugging me a little bit, but i got a free windows 7 upgrade, so...
I wouldn't buy a laptop from BestBuy, but it's your decision...

Re: Which Laptop should I Get
Dont go for the Acer one, my step dad has exactly the same it is is Farking weird, takes forever to open up stuff. I'm not a big fan of HP either, but I would go for the HP one.
Re: Which Laptop should I Get
You actually can add a GPU to certain laptops =O (read it on laptopreviews.com)
