Know nothing about the test either, and your english seems to be ok.
Should be good enough for someone from a non-english country >.< i'dd asume.

Re: Going to take TOEFL
Well I never knew English was not your primary language. You make very few mistakes, that I would just take as typos, and almost no grammatical errors o.o . Since you're in front of a computer make sure you use the spell check. I have not taken the class you're specifying, but I have taken online courses. If you get unlimited time, use Google to your advantage

Re: Going to take TOEFL
I am taking it soon as well, there were few online pages that had tests that were very similar to TOEFL.
You seem to have a pretty good english so in your case i'd just read books in english or so in order to clean those little mistakes we always commit as non native english speakers
.
For those who didn't know TOEFL stands for Test Of English as a Foreign Language and it's required for applying in any university/college in an english speaker country (obviously as an international student).
I would be glad if you could tell me how am i doing at english too (:, anyways good luck and hope you get a nice grade on it =D

One note on the English:
infront is 'in front' and it's not really the most appropriate word here, better would be 'ahead' (in the sentence "I've got some time infront of me").
I know nothing of the test though, never even heard of it =/

Re: Going to take TOEFL
Why don't you add to your sig "be a grammar Nazi to me"
That way whenever people quote you, they'll also fix any and all errors you made. The more you're around the correct things, the more you'll learn.

Re: Going to take TOEFL
From what I has been seen, your english spell skills is better than mine. You should will have no problems in that test. I'm sure Achilles990 would succeed it too.

Tehenkes yuu.
I guess Toefl's not that famous for people who already study English since you don't need it ^^.
actually, the best of all would just be: "I've got some free time to study"

Well, since you asked....
It is " less thAn two years..." A lot of people make that mistake, so I wouldn't really blame you. I know people here do it all the time, but you did ask.

read post #5 =.=
toefl is not that hard, make good use of transitions in your essay. I heard the oral part can be a bitch tho...

Re: Going to take TOEFL
if you want to practice online, go to ETS.org, click on TOEFL, and on Prepare for the Test.
i took the TOEFL test many times in highchool, it is VERY basic and easy. by the way you type in here, it seems your english is very good. you will do just fine, don't worry too much.

Although that might sound correct to our ears whilst speaking to other people verbally, it is highly recommended that the person uses correct grammar when taking a major test such as the TOEFL. I have received numerous complaints and such from high school teachers, because they want you to get into a habit of not using contractions. In college, if you do that, I almost guarantee you that your professor will mark you down for using them. Unless, it is just a simple response to something, I suppose it's okay then; but in major writing assignments, I would prefer to stay away from contractions.

Re: Going to take TOEFL
These things are a joke. I participated in the Cambridge one, which I think is actually the same, and it was easy. I have lived in America for 2 years and I've been writing English almost every day, but still I think that shouldn't classify as native level, and I still got the top score on the native level.
These tests are a remainder of a different age, one wherein not everyone speaks English, sees English, watches English TV etc
I think almost all English courses are 'outdated' at the moment.
But if you have college level courses they will accept your degree in that. There are very few studies that require these TOEFL things. In the Netherlands they accept VWO 6 English degree as sufficient for all English courses. (VWO is pre-university high school)
Though the standard for English education is quite high in the Netherlands.
