1 great thing about WoW for those who are interested is that every class is essential in this game.
When you are doing the 25 man raid, you need every class, and of every specialized class.
Example:
Paladins.
- You need Protection Paladins, they are the best AoE Tanks, meaning they can tank multiple mobs at the same time.
- Holy Paladins have the best flash heals. These heals are very fast, and mana efficient. They are usually on raid heal duty, they heal the rest of the 15 players who are not tanks or healers.
Warlocks:
- Destruction are pure dmg. They do tons of shadow bolts, that crit for 8K dmg. They are among the highest damage players. Always in the top 5 for damages. In fact, they do more damage than mages.
- Affliction Warlocks do debuffs. These debuffs weaken the boss and also increase the damages that shadow does on the boss. So Shadow Priests and Destruction Warlocks love these debuffs.
Hunters:
- Are in fact among the highest damage dealers. Usually in a raid, Rogues and Hunters are the top damage dealers. Then warlocks and mages.
- Hunters are great at setting traps to control mobs. They also can misdirect, meaning making sure the mob will be misdirected to hit the tank, instead of the rest of the party / raid.
- Hunters can stun also. They also provide some interesting buffs for other melee classes.
- Mobs / Bosses often will often go berzerk and enrage, Hunters to subdue this rage. Bosses are usually immune to everything. But to get to the boss must kills tons of mobs where hunters are very useful.
As you see, every class and specialization of that class is needed in WoW.
Unlike Silkroad, WoW takes smarts, thinking and coordination to bring down a boss. It isn't just run around like a moron and still kill Yarkan.
WoW boss hunting is pretty difficult and takes a lot of coordination. Only the best guilds can kill the hardest bosses. Very few guilds see the end game bosses. AkA, Black Temple and Sunwell.
