Faith - False or?

Post by Nitro »

Well... my dear SRF-ers ... with a question I come ... Sooo okay... lets start like this ... Faith ... Lets put this example... before people tought that earth is everything ... they believed in it... Then science came and proved the faith that its wrong ... that we arent alone ... that we are little piece of universe ... soo basicly we put faith first , then science comes and conquers it ... Science > Faith ...

Where science doesnt reach , there is faith until the science come and prove that faith is wrong... Thats how it will be maybe in future ... science will prove once again that faith is wrong ...

Your opinion?

Pleased now? Well... my opinion is that faith is something that answers some questions that are hard to be answered , until science comes and answers it :)

How can religion answer questions? It isn't based on reason, logic, or proof.

Yes, Nitro. One day science will do something or explain something and I will have the last laugh. Provided I'm still alive anyway.

Which is a matter of faith.

Faith is fallible and contains no logic, if used in this sense. I for one dont go for the whole faith scene.

Most likely evolution.
So, in the absence of knowledge you fall back on something that's not based on knowledge? Ya, that makes sense.

Exactly. I'd rather not believe in anything if the truth is not scientifically proven.

Brain Power > Faith Power

Don't know and honestly don't care. It has little impact on me. Maybe if we found out what actually happened it would effect me, but it doesn't now. Are you getting to something or just wanted to pick my brain?

With you all the way, Belgarath.

Epic Christian Reasoning-

When someone dies or something bad happens.
"God has a plan for everyone."

When someone is born retarded or disabled.
"God made everyone for a purpose."

...And my favorite

When confronted with immoral acts.
"God forgives us of all our sins."

Gotta love 'em.

All because they have faith.

Alright for one....the earth is spinning on an axis of 23 1/2 degrees *I think* if it were any closer/farther to the sun it couldn't support life...now how is that just a random coincidence?

My favorite is praising god only when good things happen. You never hear someone praising the fact they have cancer.

For a believer, it couldnt be coincidence. Hence it has meaning, and you can draw faith from it. From a scientific point of view, the fact that it exists in that loca, is a condition met to sustain primordial soup theory. Two sides of the same coin.

I don't hear ppl praising him in the usual sense, but I hear ppl saying "this is for the best", and stuff like that.

I disagree... It is not logical that the earth happened to appear exactly at the right spot in thee entire universe to support life.....someone knew where it had to be ...God knew where it had to be
