Ummm..they were united once, it was called Yugoslavia, remember? And, btw, after that collapsed, the unification idea didn't really go over too well. Remember the mid-1990s?
yeah you should see behind enemy lines, its dramatized but you can see whats going on, pretty ugly back in the 1990s. I don't get why America has to stuff its face up other countries asses (*cough* somalia *cough*) when the UN and NATO is doing its job. Think America think!
Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 , 25th of June ... It was nasty at these years ... I'm glad everything is ok now ... I have alooot of friends from Serbia ... Tho ... really alooot of Croatians hate Serbians ...

thats what makes me angry. In the end wars and conflicts result from ethnic hating and religion. Its really ironic how almost every religion teaches peace and non-bias, but its religion that causes so many wars and killings. why cant people accept differences and live together? cause ther uneducated.

Well... I'm not experianced with all this stuff ... I was born in 1992 ... But I know we werent happy in country with Serbians ,and we wanted independence ...People want power ... more more more and more of it ... Greed is what makes everything sux ... Why would we live in their country under their rules if we arent happy with it? (Once again I say , I dont know much about war, I'm not experianced with it)....
And I'm glad that Kosovo did declared independence.

Re: Kosovo declares independence
lol @fatsmurf
btw the UN won't be able to recognize kosovo as an independent country anyway, china and russia wont allow. the us and most of the western EU countries have already recognized kosovo as an independent country btw.
i also haven't seen my serbian friend online for a couple of days now. anyone know how the situation is in serbia? one thing though thats good is that serbia won't be resorting to any direct confrontation.

Re: Kosovo declares independence
because everyone in Serbia is bored and wants something to fight about, and they probably have to pay a lot of taxes to fund the new country also
but what i don't get is that 4 major countries agreed with the new country but the only embassy they attack is the American one? unless the other countries didn't have embassies there.

Re: Kosovo declares independence
Well my dad is from Kosovo and all I can say its about time they're officially independent.
Some Serbs are sore losers thats all, they always treated Croatia and everybody else in ex-Yugoslavia like shit, while all the cash was flowing in Belgrade(Serbian capital). So when we separated from them there was a war. And now it looks as though theres gonna be another war against Kosovo (or whoever they want). Recently there was an attack on the Croatian, US and some other embassies in Belgrade.. Whats funny is that their foreign adviser condemned the attacks but their president wouldn't comment on them .. kind of looks as though he supports them. But oh well, its still the extremist neo-nazis there who're causing all the trouble.

why won't they recognize the country
Because Russia will use its veto. With that there's no chance of the whole UN recognizing Kosovo.

if i really cared, i would want kosovo to go back to serbia.. to prevent war of course. but because im from croatia i dont really care
i just have many serbian friends.. and you know how people get about their countries...
