Hi all, I have asked this question in game and got different answers each time.
So I come to the palace of knowledge on a quest for truth.

At the moment I am only level 27, I am keeping my elixirs for use at a higher level.
Reason being at a higher level it will take longer to go up levels, so I keep them for a longer time than a lower level player would.

Any way, some say they make your item glow after 4 or 5 have been used on it.
Others say it only make the item stronger, some say both.

Also can you use enough of them on an item to make it SOS?
Or can SOS items only be picked up.

Any light you can shed on the subject I am grateful for.

Only stuff that glows, are weapon and shield. Sos, som, and sosun have various glows, that aren't quite the same as refine glows. At +3, is the first glow for weapon and shield, which is a whitish almost water effect. +5 is the next one, which is red. +7 is gold, and +9 is blue. Afaik, regular eq never glows.
