Would you please put a minimum post count to start a new topic say like 20?

Them spambots are really annoying, and i almost for fkin in the ass by one, scrolling through the forums, and i didnt know it was a spambot, and i opened it it was all porn pics, and my dad is RIGHT behind me, he would of beaten the shit out of me, thank god for Alt+Tab

I know eh, my dad strict about that shit, its because hes really religious, but seriously, no dramatization, he actually would, hes done worse to me for little shit, he fkin grabbed and lifted me from my shirt of the ground cuz i smelt like weed, and i didnt even smoke that day, anyways like he even knows what weed smells like......

Most of the time you can tell, but recently some of those posts actually appear fairly convincing, at first glance. It was only when I put my cursor over the link that I knew it was one of those porn sites.

I like the idea, though.

+ True, was thinking about that too :/ A time delay before you could post a new thread perhaps? Like if you just made a new account you have to wait 2~3 days before starting a new thread.

Maybe.

I still like the idea that a "new user" can't make a new thread, and once they become a "regular user" they will be able to(I can't remember how many posts you have to make to become a regular user.)

On a side note, I never made one of those "Hi I'm new." topics when I first came here.

most people 1st post is a question. Whether their SRO doesnt run or they need help with their char.

So they register, and post.

Now, if they had to make 20 posts before hand, you would see people "upping their post count everywhere".

If we didnt have enough +1 or /agree posts already, or "hi" (lol.....)]

Lastly... why not post in site discussion, where I check for these topics?

The bots would post 20 times in a few seconds, then post their porn ad, more work for mods.

Those people mostly spam when their is a inspection tho'

But imo you are right.. That would not help, Just ignore the topics + read a other topic till a mod deletes it or it get posted away...

That's what I was thinking, lol.

It's a good idea in theory, but it wouldn't work.

Instead of not being able to make a new topic, you should be unable to
add links to your post until you have a certain number of posts. I'm sure the spam bots will just write to address without a URL code, but at least it won't be "click able". It could off course turn out to cause more spam, as mentioned.

There was a rule like this on another forum I visit, all it did was make spam bots post the pic in other people's thread. I would rather not click on a new topic then browse a random thread and find flashing porn pictures.

If it's anything like another forum I go to, those stickies will most likely just be ignored anyway. =/
