BBcode (Bulletin Board Code) is a simple language used on many forums, bulletin boards and blogs. It is commonly known to resemble html and has its similarities but unlike html, it has its limits and is used for security reasons, as html could be used to break/imitate parts of the layout, or run JavaScript leading to XSS attacks.
The tags are commonly represented in between square brackets ([]) with a keyword such as [b]. (this tag is for bold on your writing.)
Overall knowing BBcode will help you on whichever forum you visit no matter what its name or brand as this is an extremely common language and will benefit you.
Images:
You find your image (must be publicly availible on the internet)
then you use these tags:

[img][/img]And add the image link (not the web page its on the link, the easiest way to get this is right click the image, click properties, and use the image url).
After you do that, you paste it in.

Server Flags:
This is pretty simple.
Go to your profile.
Now scroll down that page until you find a box labled location.
Enter your server name
The server flags for both merged and original servers currently available are:

Other location flags for those that no longer play SRO:
Off Topic, Artist Corner, WorldofWarcraft, LeagueofLegends, GuildWars2, london2012 (temporary).
Just copy and paste the exact server name like above and paste it into your location box, then press submit.
Signature/Avatar
Signatures are very simple to add. First you need to upload your sig or get the url from the one someone made for you.
Right click the image
properties>copy the image url
Now go to your profile and use the image tags I mentioned above and add them.
Avatars are even more simple, either paste a link to one on the internet, upload one of your own or use one of our selection provided.
Forum tags

Now you have two choices for this: either use the button provided and quote the person above you or place the quote between the Quote Tags:

Now not many know how to use these but they are simple.
It's not like the other tags where you simply open and close. You need to tell the code where to add a bullet point. To do this just add this at the beginning of each new line: [*].

Embeded links
To do this you dont just simply copy and paste a link you have to use the url tags:

This is a relativly new tag that is custom to this site its simple to use let me demonstrate.

Spoiler Tag
This tag is custom and not found on all sites its a simple concept similar to hide/unhide tags found on other sites best used when you are posting something either not safe for work or huge images

Multi Tagging
With all tags you can use as many as you want, so bold/italics and other common combos are not a problem.
As for the other tags they are very easy, so if you have any further problems PM me or a moderator/admin.
Search
Search is located at the top row of tabs click it and you get a menu like this:

First of all your top box is for the item you wish to search for most often. Then, click Search.
The second box is if you happen to know the person's name who created the topic this help cuts the search results down to something more of help, but you're still going to get spam so search though the results to find what you need.
The other options are pretty obvious.
Selecting a forum will help I recommend you do this even if you don't know who wrote the topic. Use a bit of common sense and you can select the right forum to search in for your topic and will get much better results.

Notify me when a reply is posted
This option is more commonly used by spam bots but you can make use of this if you wish to follow a interesting topic and get a message every time someone adds a reply.
It works by sending you an email (one you registered with unless it is changed), once received you just open it and follow the link to the thread in question.
Add a poll
If you do not want to add a poll to your topic, leave the fields blank.
This will be an option you have only when you are the thread starter and only can be accessed once after it is formed.
These are very simple to create:

Some are confused by this as they only see one box for poll option, but you can enter one of the options you want on the poll and click add option then add the next one in the new box.
When you get to your last option, click add option and leave the next box empty.

Now for this you either leave it set to 0 in which case it will run forever, or enter a number of days.
Preview
This will show you your post before it is shown to the rest of the forum community. It gives you the ability to remove any mistakes before you post it.
Submit
This is the final stage of posting. It will make your thread/post public for all to see, so many sure your ready to use this before you press it.

Upload Avatar from your machine:
This gives you the option to upload a avatar from your computer.

For this you get the link for a avatar from another site but it must end with .jpg/.gif and they are restricted with the size limits
