It's been brought up a few times before but not talked about much, just wondering if there's any possibility of SRF hosting a Teamspeak or Ventrilo server for forum members at some point. Not looking for a definite yes but it would be nice to know if the answer is definitely no.

i think if we do get one, it should be located in the central of the US (texas server), seeing as how thats probably the center of most of us, (north america)

we should probably split it up into servers too and then have subrooms for people to be with their friends of the same server. and a general chat area would be cool too

You know you don't have to officially buy a hosting service to set up one... It can be runned at home. 8)

thats cause you haven't used ventrilo long enough, better codecs, easier to run, easier on ram, all around way better. I come from a really competitive gaming community and every good organisation prefers ventrilo over teamspeak

so yea, 100% behind aya on this one, ventrilo ftw

used and hosted both vent and teamspeak servers, ventrilo seems to function much better both bandwidthwise and codec quality wise.

While TS does have a lot more individual user management, i really prefer the simple style of Vent 8)

Teamspeak doesn't compare to ventrillo. Anyone with static ip and leaves computer on for 24/7 want to set up one?
