You're wasting your time. If he existed he wouldn't let this happen.

Hm. Is he attempting a DoS attack on the chat room? :?

this happened one day when i was in chat, but with someone else. i don't really think it's done on purpose, i think there is something happening that's causing some kind of error... if you notice, the connects and d/c's are timed almost exactly the same each time, so it's not likely that they're doing it manually, at least.

Not manual does not necessarily mean not on purpose. As far as I'm concerned the speed and regularity of it makes me all the more suspicious that someone is using a program to try to overload the chat and shut it down.

well, the reason i said it may not be on purpose is that when i saw it happening, it wasn't just one person also. there were 3 people it was doing, and at least one of them was a regular poster, and someone i wouldn't suspect of attacking the chat. i won't name names, but still....

but yea, either way, ban is best

Okay okay.

They were not doing this intentionally.

This is a bug in the chat system. The chat window is still open, so it connects to retrive messages ever 2 seconds or so.

But the database is kicking them.

This has happened to many people, including Pro and Suicide. But they were AFK and don't even know.

/ban the user, wait a min, then /unban them. The problem gets fixed.

If your lazy, /ban is only a 24 period anyway, and will resolve itself.

I don't know why it does this periodically. I think these people are AFK when the message buffer is cleared.

Now you know.
