The chat was rarely used before it was removed, but I'll look into it this weekend.
That donation tab has been superfluous for quite some time anyway.

Well the original plans were that people would get some extras besides just a title for the money they donated.

If you add a chat box you should implement it in the space that "News and Announcements" occupies since there is a sub-forum containing all of that info anyway. It would get a lot more use if it was at the top of the homepage instead of a separate page.
