this is spider bots (web crawling bots) which archive the websites so they can appear in search results in the feature.

Googlebot is the search bot software used by Google, which collects documents from the web to build a searchable index for the Google search engine.

I have been wondering about it for sometime now but couldn't find out what it was (the spider thingy).

I guess bots have a benefit after all .
