But I noticed that this forum does not notify of new messages (pm's) even though I have ''notify on new pm'' and ''pop-up window on new pm'' set to yes in my profile. I was wondering if I am the only one having this problem, or are others having it also.

Yes Notify mean email.

I think you want the 'Pop up window on new Private Message' option.
