And of course the filter stuff seems to be completely ignored again. Remember, the words were originally censored for the sensitive babies in this forum, now that there's an option, those sensitive babies can flip that option, and the rest of us can just see the words as we want to see them.

Joey

There are only 3 words in the word filter.

One I didnt want all over the forum.
Two hate speech words that were seriously complained about.

Thats all.

****!

I think word filters are stupid. Instead of writing f u c k, people will just write ....., fk, or f u c k with a strange U. Some even write fark instead.

With the new option that came with version 3, let people choose to have those words censored or not. That's what it's there for.

Im not entirely sure how that works ATM. Theres a word censoring option, yes. But no list in the ACP whats censored by it and whats not.

I can say shit, but I cant say ****. and I didnt program that.

Nor is there any "on by default" option under the admin panel. I think it is, since mine is on... but it works selectively.

Sometimes I see fark... sometimes I see ****

Hum.

That rarely happens, and when it does it's dealt with fast enough to need such folder.

I think when new users sign up, they should be redirected to the rules page.

has been suggested before to have sections for different languages.
it's a nice idea, but might bring along a lot of trouble. one of the
good things about srf is the fact that it's a completely international
site. people from all over the world talk to eachother. we make sections
for people from spain, france, netherlands, etc., then dutch people will
speak to dutch people, spanish people to spanish people etc. imo it would
be bad for this community.

and besides that, how on earth are we supposed to mod sections for all
those languages if we don't understand all that's said in there :P

I believe an option to change the Forum's look to something darker, or different in style would be well-received.

I recently thought this would be useful when I set my screen's brightness all the way up, and the current look of the Forum hurt my eyes.

Like different skins? That would be cool.

To Be: Added
Suggestion: BBCode tables (<table><tr><td></td></tr></table>)
Reason: Signatures like mine could be extended into the width instead of height, taking up less forum space (even if it's not much, but still).

usually, one of the mods is assigned to the private group, so things
cannot get out of control. if you have a private section, then there
has probably a mod assigned to it in case you want topics to be locked
or removed.

Still it should be implemented with lock and move and delete posts ( not topics)

what do you mean "should".

i don't think it's smart to have regular users get mod permissions,
not even in the private sections. the private sections are still a
part of silkroadforums, which means they are still under srf's
"jurisdiction" so to call it. as i said before, i'm guessing one of
the mods has been assigned to your section. you might want to contact
that mod if something in your section needs to be edited/locked or
deleted.

No, i do think he means normal links like http://www.google.com.

However, is it that hard to right click and click again? I think not, and yes you can change your internet browser settings to open in new window/tab if im not mistaken.

Plus if your still using IE, well then your screwed anyway XD

Mozilla FTW!!!
