Cool idea. I think its harder to do it with PhpBB though. This will also mean modifying the current template completely and recoding some of our functions. Hopefully Ryoko will visit and give his opinion on it.

This is just an idea, it works well on other forum's and it might increase awareness of the game and of this forum...


Surggestion: RPG section, at the bottom of the forum main page, adding and rpgsection, for playing roleplay games out of silkroad, of course some can be silkroad oriented, some can be of other things, i just think it might make the forum more active^^

Suggestion: If a mod or admin knows someone on the forums is not legit, they can have them banned. People may try to abuse this by pming names of srfers to mods they claim to know are unlegit. A rule will need to implmented that threatens to ban or warn people who do so.
Reason: The more botters out of the srf community, the better. It wasn't really necessary in the pass to do so, but because the botting situation has gotten worse, I believe its a necessary rule.

Reason: It will cut down the useless post. It will also prevent flames from happening.

Suggestion: Add to the topic "5 EASY WAYS TO GET BANNED FROM SRF" that anyone who indirectly supports, defends, and promotes botting will be instantly banned. Also, anyone who promotes botter neutrality. Meaning, they say that you shouldn't care about who bots or not.
Reason: To better the SRF community. There are many people in the community who obviously bot but can't be banned because there isn't evidence that they bot or they haven't admitted to doing so. This creates tension between the legits on the forums and the people who are botting. I think its quite obvious to tell who is defending botting for the purpose of a debate and those who are defending botting because they bot. If not, you can look at that member's past post history. By implementing this rule, we can rely on a mod or admin's good judgment to make the decision to remove that botter. Furthermore, its not good when a new member joins the forum and and post a picture of a person botting or ranting about botting and get a handful of people replying, "who cares about who bots" or something similar to that. It make it seems as though being legit is not worth it. Certainly not good.

we just discussed that a little, and it seems that most of the mod team, and
i must say that includes me, found out we don't really mind people "+1"-ing
topics. idk, its like.. just part of how this forum works and has always worked.
still, if it becomes a real problem we will discuss it further, but for
now i don't really see it as a necessary thing

i, for one, am completely against these "dont care" post, and i personally
think this option would be good for the community. its like, if you dont care,
then dont post. same goes for spam topics. if you think its spam, you should
pm a mod or something, because posting its spam makes your post spam
etc. however, its up to the team discussion if we will do something with this.

about the anti-botting suggestions of yours..........
not sure about that yet. the forum has always been like it has been, and the
ones that bot that dont care about the community usually end up admitting.
another problem is, that when people are lvl 80, or have over 1bil gold,
immediately get called a botter nowadays which makes it hard to tell legit
from bot.

Reason: I remember on a forum I use to post on a while ago they had a system of warning that involved reducing someones post count by 10 posts on a first offense, 150 posts on a second offense and resetting their post count all together on a third offense. I think SRF could use a similar system since there is a share of people who too often and on multiple occasions just quote someone without saying anything else to contribute to it or will make useless flame posts on others that does nothing to contribute to a topic. Also since there is a share of people who will make spam posts just to get their post count up it's fitting that the person's post count should be a form of warning someone.

New system to rank your post count. Like in this forum.

HP : Your hp increases when the number of your post count increase

MP : It increases depending on the quality of your post. For ex, spammer who reply "rolf", "lol" will get nothing. The post need to be contructive and informative to others.

Level : increase when your post count and the quality of the post increase as well. The mod could give the exp if the post has quality and contribute smt to the forum. Or decrease when the member receives a certain warning.

Danh vong: translating to english means "reputation". If the post has quality, informative and helps other member's problem, member could give him some reputation by approving or disapproving the post.
Reputation is shown with the stars. Green is positive and red is negative star. U can only add 1 reputation to a member once a day.

I like the warning system, but reducing someone's post seems a bit lame. I think a better system would be a point's system.
E.g. every warning would be 1 forum warning point (or more, based on the severity of the violation of a rule). After a decent amount of time (3 months?) warning points will be removed. Getting 3 forum warning points would mean a temporary ban, getting 5 forum warning points would mean a permanent ban. Warning points would be visible (under someones avatar e.g.).
