which halo do you guys think was the best? i think the first one was the best

every weapon had its purpose in h1
h2.. umm.. brute plasma rifle.. brute shot, needler, etc
h3.. spiker, brute shot, equipment, fail, fail, fail
mlg is the way to go

and in Halo 1, the majority of the time, the AR was used up close, hit them with a few shots, then double melee and done.

Depends how you play Halo 3.

MLG Style? Or MatchMaking?
If MLG, then BR > all.
If MM, then still BR > all.

Halo 1 had little auto aim, meaning three shot kills with a pistol actually took skill.

i sure hope so, halo 3 might have fix a little bit of weapon equality issues but the over all story was f**cking sh!t. halo 1 felt well rounded and was easy to get into.

I'll have to agree with you on that. But I loved it, and many people didn't know how to use it (from afar) properly.


And as far as I'm concerned, the shotgun is the weapon of choice when dealing with close combat.

It didn't even do that.

Off host, you will find that you drop bullets with the BR.
By drop bullets I mean instead of firing one three round burst, you'll fire a two round burst, and the third bullet will not fire at all.

These bullets are crucial in competitive play.

Though I admittedly haven't played much 1.

Jury is still out on 3, but the gameplay of 2-3 is slick. I loved Plasma Pistol->BR owning people on 2.

I played 1 and liked it a lot. At the time, the coop was very slick, and the story satisfying. I wasn't able to get myself to play through the second one. I didn't enjoy it at all, it was a dated game when it came out and made no attempts at improving from the first one.

It's left me with a bad taste in my mouth; i'm not very motivated to go pick up halo 3. But, the weekend after the next i'm planning a halo weekend with one of my friends, were hopefully going to make it through all three of them in coop since we both haven't completed the second or tried the third.

I have played Halo 1 & 2,for some reason i didnt want to play 3.
Still imo Halo 1 was the best, 2 was not that bad. But one was just more fun

I know Rhe7oric from Odin from Halo, he's on these forums.

BTW on xbox with no lead (LAN gaming, same household etc) the pistol was really too easy to use with the aim assist crap. But rockets are obviously the best weapon if you can get them. And sniper was usually used more than pistol competitively because on the 1shot headshots, those take skill but are in the end better than using pistol.

Halo: CE is the best. All the other Halos are screwed.

I would have to say I liked halo 3 a bit better than the other 2. I really did enjoy halo 1 a lot at the time tho, and I played CE as well. Halo 2 wasn't a complete screw up like you guys say I think, the multiplayer was great. But Obviously the whole playing as the arbitor thing wasn't very appealing.

I played halo 1 online on the PC for 3-4 years and still play it from time to time now. Halo 2 and 3 never came close to how much fun i had playing halo 1 online. I probably had most fun on halo 1 singleplayer out of the 3 of them aswell. This reminds me that i still havnt got round to reading contact harvest.

Auto Aim in Halo:CE was nothing compared to Halo 2 or Halo 3 even.

In Halo:CE, when you meleed, you didn't magically lunge forward across the map to hit the person like you do in Halo 2 and 3.

Rockets have 4 shots in them, and they were effected by explosions.
Sniper used more than pistol competitively? Yeah, ok.
Pistol was the best all around weapon.

For long range with the scope, to mid range, to even close range, it's potential was up to the user.

I liked Halo:CE for the button combos.

Whenever a player had a pistol and sniper onhand, they usually had the sniper out. Watch any video from a final boss player and you'll see that.
I still play on PC.. sniper > pistol because it takes less time to kill someone with than pistol. actually, I'm about to play a match (match as in.. match in a dead league :\) bye!

haha I reread what you said.

Of course sniper will be used more.

It's a power weapon.
