CoD4

[Backfire]

Well I just got CoD4 [after giving in to my FPS crave]. Played Cal-Main and a tiny part of Invite for CoD2. Would CoD2 skills transfer over to CoD4? Is CoD4 totally different? Is there still Search + Destroy PUB servers? What are the best PUB Servers player skill wise. Im from north america and im guessing the main pubs are located in Chicago still? Can any1 help me out ? Im sure there are other CoD4 threads but Im lazy . If any1 wants to pub with me my XFIRE is backfire62493 . Thanks ^^

Cod4 is basically cod2...but with alot of changes. Full autos are king. Run and gun is king. A few infinity ward mistakes in the weapon damage made the smg ak-74u one of the best guns in the game. Every pro video you see they will be using ak-47, ak-74u, or m40 rifles.
There was over 15,000 servers to choose from last time I played. It's fun till you complete the MP profile with all kills/headshots/objectives. After that it get pretty boring.
Custom servers are pretty fun as well, there are some really good user created maps. Only problem is most of the custom servers have lousy maps that make everyone leave.

In COD2 i always used the kar98k - that right? No scope. But COD4 is different. Like the other guy said.. Run and Gun wins. I use the m4 carb.

try cod2 + speed + modern wep = cod4

scopes are a must pretty much everyone of my kills i quickly scope before shooting, ak-47 xD...though i think the acog scope is a little over board and not needed heh stil works fine tho

i can only use the acog on the ak-47 i cnt use it with my snipers prefer the classic, but i like range on my weps one you can spot the snipers and seeing as i know where they are before they see me its usually not always but a lot of the time helpful to let them know you see them, in prone there head usally is the first thing the bullet hits no matter how much spray and miss you have from firing the ak at that distance

my fav is the r700, but its quite open for debate, comes down to preferance i suppose

Only serious snipers use the first one.

Skill transfer really depends on what you played. If you played with mp44 you'll do just fine in CoD4. Scoping you have to lead the shots on runners. Shotguns got gimped in cod4 imo.

M21 is a semi-automatic (shoots as fast as you click) with no recoil, and a 1 hit kill in HC.

m21 is prolly better for non camping snipering like dom does gives you more then one chance in a fire fight to kill them the others have a too slow recoil to go out and kill someone face to face
