Black Desert Online: New Age of Silkroad

If you read into Black Desert Online, you will find some amazing similarities to SRO. MMORPGs have gotten pretty stale and similar to each other but it seems Black Desert is going to break out of the mold and return to a past we are all familiar with. Black Desert is almost like SRO 2015! It is B2P (which does reduce gold spamming) but the base package is only $39.99. CBT1 starts December 16th, You can probably win keys from MMORPG.com or the BD FB page if you arent sure you want to buy it.
- Trade Runs/Thief system
- Guild wars
- Fortress wars
- Open World PVP
- Grinding
- No Channels/Instances
- World Bosses

Hm... the game doesn't seem half bad.
I especially like the archer. Their skills seems sick

This is yet another game I had my eyes on for a while because of the phenomenal graphics and impressive looking game-play.... I hadn't heard when it was suppose to reach the NA market... I also didn't know it had a trade system with thieves and such... Anyways thanks for the info and CBT link... I've signed up... Jebus...I'll have my hands full over the holidays after adding this game to the 3 that I am currently into right now...

Definitely a grinding game.

The amount of characters at the bosses tho. RIP FPS.
It kind of looks like GW2 to me with similar gameplay.

I didn't. I couldav sworn I signed up via the links given out by Bladerdash here in the thread. I tried to log onto the site but my credentials didn't work. I searched my e-mail and there is nothing to be found pertaining to Black Desert Online. It was as if I never signed up... So I had to sign up again and when I tried to apply for beta access it says they aren't taking any more applications.
... You're gonna have to share with us your impression of BD...

I'm in! Make sure you sign up when CBT2 starts also if you didnt get into this one. Also, they are giving away keys on both Reddit and Facebook, so if you arent in, try there.

Been doing a bit if research on this game. And apparently PvP is the only source of end game enjoyment since there's no raids.
Dunno how to feel about that.

This game just caught my attention, enough to think about pre ordering. We'll see how I feel about it after actually doing research on it.

Played CB. The game is beautiful and animations are great. But very grindy, so like Silkroad Online. But I wonder if there will be raiding, I didn't get very far in the game.

so... they launched the character creator as a standalone client lol
free download, no registration. That's pretty neat.
https://www.blackdesertonline.com/event ... ode=PRCCM1edit: there looks to be a registration when you open the launcher
Oh well. minor inconvenience.

Their character creation/customization tool is quite advanced...It feels like they put the same character modeling tool used to design games into the hands of the player... I will wait till full release since I am currently caught up in Blade and Soul....

Is it F2P or B2P, anyone from beta, whats your thoughts on the game? Saw few videos, the main problem is no pve end game? Is it true?

It's B2P and I like it, but it's complicated. You can tell this isnt a fresh launched game, its been played in KR for some time already so the game is pretty advanced and well realized already. Not a lot of bugs or anything, just some translation errors.
It's like SRO, there wasn't any end game there either. LOL I said, this is like Silkroad was redone in a modern format. There is a lot of PVP stuff, you can PK in open world with a penalty, there is trading, crafting, etc. There aren't really any dungeons, no... I mean, I never liked WOW much anyways, right?
Pre-orders reserve your names on 2/09 at 1:00 PM
CBT2 will launch on 2/18
Game goes live on 3/3!!
