Anybody play Blizzard's take on Dota?
Interestingly the Diablo 3 Diablo model is portrayed in the cinematic, but the Diablo 2 model is used ingame :S
I've been spending a good deal of hours on the game. It's honestly much better than I had anticipated.
They do a great job of differentiating themselves from LoL and Dota2. And to some extent I even think their game is better. They streamlined the game a lot. No more items, gold and last-hitting, but customizable skill progression in its stead. You'd think that takes away from what makes the game good, but it's actually really pleasant. Last-hitting in Dota2 results in an extremely slow early phase because nobody's pushing their creeps forward and getting damage done. So that's gone now... Right from the get-go it has a very 'Go Ham or Go Home' approach and I like it.
Every map has a unique gimmick to it to spice up the game and speed up the pace, which really just pushes players to play aggressively and run around the map.
There's also something awesome about seeing all the characters from Blizzard Franchises kill each, you know, in the same kind of way as Super Smash Brothers. Playing as Raynor from SC2 and shooting Diablo in the face is great
Characters are on a weekly rotation like in LoL, but they can be purchased with ingame currency, which also isn't that hard to obtain thanks to daily mission. (Just like in Hearthstone).
Updates are regular, and there's a new character added every few weeks.
So anyway, I'm enjoying it a lot. Anybody else want join?
