I'm really interested in what happens next. Ubisoft has pretty much a clean sheet slate and free hands now so they could take it to any direction. The fact that lots of stuff will be new and it could turn out entirely different is what keeps me excited.
I was kinda hoping Desmond would have decided not to touch the big ball because that would have changed things radically and I wouldn't have known what to expect at all.

SPOILER ALERT, well.. we will discuss AC4 so AC3 ending will be mentioned alot, just ignore this topic if you don't want ac3 ending spoiled
Well the ending needed to have something good too, if it wasn't for that, I guess they'd keep you waiting a couple of years to know whether he'll touch the ball or not. I was always thinking that this franchise is mainly about Desmond, killing him was stupid imo, hope they have something really good as a compensation for killing the main character.

Yes, I thought Desmond's journey would be a lot longer than that. But I kinda want a new protagonist as Desmond acted like a bitch sometimes, especially in AC3. Connor and Desmond seemed to have pretty similar personalities.

Yeah, they were both full of themselves sometimes.

^I've seen that before and I really liked it. But, the question is, what time period?

Dunno, but it's a good time period.

That the the original concept art from AC 3, it was ditched and the game setting was instead moved to Colonial America

^I'm pretty sure it was just fan art from a dA user.

Assassin's Creed story in 7 minutes, if there's a part that you've missed, this video tells the whole story, spoiler alert ofc.
PS: not including AC3

Some more info. I figured they would consider moving further down that naval combat path, since they got such positive feedback from it. I don't know how much I'll like this if it is true, because it's not really the original AC theme, but I guess some Carribean pirate stuff would be cool. I wonder if they'll make a separate naval combat game one day.

I've seen a lot of people dislike this idea and I kinda agree with them. Pirate themed AC should be only a DLC, and not the whole new game. Still, can't wait for more informations.

Naval war as the main thing, that's a huge turn off and a totally different game, just give us the stealthy assassin with some new features and a good scenario!

I just came around watching these videos, and the only useful information was the name of the main character, Edward Kenway, and maybe a confirmation that it is going to be named Black Flag and the area. Waiting for release date.
Edit: I just watched the last two videos, it really seems like it's going to be another great game.

One pic is also underwater, so maybe we will be able to do some proper diving now?

I'm more interested in the story outside the Animus, how can they use Haytham's father when Desmond is actually gone?

Well, Desmond's relatives should also contain Edward's memories. And Edward also had another child with his first wife. So the connection could be from there instead, which would mean the protagonist could be anyone.

I don't know if he died. There is nothing that specifically says: 'Desmond is dead.' I too love the stories outside the Animus, but I love the stories inside too.

^Yes, but Ubisoft also said that AC3 is the end of Desmond's story. So bringing him back as the protagonist would be silly.

just saw the trailers, didn't expect anything official that early, graphics are neat as always, hope they make the release earlier too.
