New Silkroad

I know I broke the holy OTL-rule of not posting any SRO-related content in the OTL, but this might be good news for some former SRO players. And I know most of you guys don't check GD, atleast I didn't for quite some time. A new SRO called Silkroad-R is going to be released on december 20th. From what I know this far, it sounds really promising. Thist might be the ''Silkroad 2'' JoyMax had mentioned earlier. Some guys of OTL might try it out and I think I will too, atleast till GW2 will be released.
Anyways, for anyone that's interested, you can check out the GD topic
HERE!.

That's a major rule to break there.
I'll be the OTL asshole here and say gtfo with this garbage.

Look what you've done. You've ruined other games as well now.

Kind of ironic, can't talk about Silkroad in other sections about a major change even though it's "Silkroad Forums"

Seeing as I've been looking for a new MMo to sink into, maybe this will be a lot better and I'll actually be able to enjoy myself. Not holding my breath, but I have literally nothing to do till January so I might as well.

I might try this out but not before ~ 3 weeks (Gotta love exams :3)

Actually both are sorta fixed.
1- The
Game Servers are new and will take some time (Months?) for bots to manage to work, atleast i hope so.
2- Which is a bit more important imo, the leveling up speed is faster here and the exp required to level up is
way lower than Isro.

actually the exp is basically 2x rather than 1x, so not way lower
but theres supposed to be a hell load of quests added to make it easier to lvl. I remember like a year ago in azteca where they added loads of new quests + uppd the rewards so you could somewhat lvl. Now apparently they have added even more quests. Obv the quests are like kill 500 mobs or get 100 items, but atleast its better than the alternate (for JM) which is kill 1,000,000 to get to the next lvl (at 40s...)

way lower might not fix it, bots will come into this game and joymax wont fix that either so it will just be the same, eventually, i played isro in beta so figure il try this one too

Bots don't work on the servers per say. They work off of the Software mostly.
Exp rates will probably actually help in deterring bots. The main reason they existed was because of the insane amounts of exp to level up. 4 years and I got to 92..

Check out the pservers, with 150x rates and all. theres still bots there.
Only way to get rid of bots would be to make quests a much better way to lvl than just grinding. But i think there are some bots that can lvl doing quests (not sure how thats works)

Let's answer it by order :
1- By lower i meant that for example level 120-121 takes 9 billions exp, while on isro it takes 14 billions exp from 111-112 and there are supposed to be a lot more quests which should make up leveling up decent.
2,3- I know even the most advanced security can be breached if it gets ignored and doesn't get updated but the bots that work on Isro shouldn't work on Sro-R since it got different software/game client, I might be optimistic a bit but we will see.
4- They basically can talk to a Npc, take a quest, Go to a certain place to grind then hand the quest back.

You don't see anything wrong with the fact that there is even "billions" of exp needed for any level at all?

Not at all. What I see wrong with the billion part is that at level 115 mobs they give you like 30k exp. Though I haven't played in a long time and I played on the test server for like an hour so I don't remember.
The main problem is the curve of exp. Every 10 levels jumps up with x3 or even x4 the amount of needed before. That's the problem. Top it off the monster's exp don't curve with that. Not even close to it. If they jumped the rates up x2 or even x3 times then it'd be no problem.. sorta. Besides the fact it'd take forever.
Though I'm interested. Might be fun until I get bored around 80.

I am not going after the cap anyway, so it doesn't get me annoyed that much, i just play to have some fun and chat.
Kinda hope that quests would be more useful than before though.

The billions is indeed a little extreme, but overall It's quite an improvement so far. I really like the SOS starts as well. Full SoS makes the first levels a breeze. I wonder if that'll stay later.
I also LOVE the face that all the force trees are now under a single mastery. (Recovery is separate)
Now Chinese pick between Weapon/Force or Weapon/Recovery or Force/Recovery

I think that you get Sos weapons up to 8D for free.

The first 29 levels suck for Force/Recovery, I'd know since all I can really do is fire imbue attack and then use lion shout every couple of second lol. Free pots and armor and everything makes it much easier though

btw, is there any way to change the options for the extra skill bars if one is on top of the other and you can only click the button for one of them, and somehow the one on top is the one you can't click. The game moved both of them into the center of my screen and I can't move them lol...
Edit: nvm I fixed it my switching resolutions.

Changing the resolution is what usually fcks up my floatbars. Then i have to press 'Restart' and delete 'wndpos.dat' from the settings folder and log in again.
