Origin

Post by Key-J »

So,

As many of you know, EA has changed a lot of their systems, and is going to be basing it around the new "Steam" style platform they created called "Origin"

This is also a social hub for gamers, and since a lot of us are currently playing, and will be playing games together, like BF3, im just starting to put the collection of Origin users.

You can already download origin, and sign in with your EA account.

If you guys want to add me, i'm: k3yjk3yj

They're 2 different softwares, of course you can run both at a time. MSN doesn't stop you from using AIM does it?

P.S. I'm protesting EA's meddling ways and how much they're probably responsible for the shit that is DA2. I'll only get this if it truly catches on in like... a year or two.

My understanding is that origins isn't like steam. Its just a store. You don't need it running to play games.

My guess is that the friends list is just to avoid trying to join off people in game, which doesn't work half the time in EA games.

Does anyone know how to add my BFBC2 to Origin? For some reason its not in my games list. Just redeem my code from my CD key?

I hate Origin. It takes forever to start up and it's just a shitty store. That's it and I have to have it running for BF3 Alpha? I'm sure as hell angry. It uses more resources that Steam and that's sad when Steam is a bigger application. Oh and I'm running Origin through steam called "BF3 through Origin problem EA" I would have put a question mark, but files do not allow that. If anyone wishes to add me VashioKun

You games can 'expire' after a year of purchase I remember reading.

I redeemed mine, but it doesn't matter. If you bought it from Steam Origin is stupid and will make you redownload the entire thing even if you drag the game to the download folder.
