Hey, so I was curious if anyone here knew any good 3rd person shooters (not newly released, but like 1-2 years old, so i can get it for 20$ >.<).
What im looking for is a one w/ a longish campaign w/ a good story, dont care about multiplayer/online at all since i dont have Live anyways.

The only one I know of is Gears of War, idk how long the campaign for it is.

Any games? thanks :)

Hitman maybe?
Guess you can't really call it a shooter, but it has a long campaign, it's 3rd person and u shoot people.

Mass Effect is a 3rd person shooter RPG o.O Don't know if you specifically want a fps game with 3rd person view or just a game where you can fire a gun in 3rd person xD

@ThreeUnique; Looks pretty epic, cept most of the time id be playing alone :\, will check it out though
@woutr; Wouldnt hitman be more like GTA? Im kinda looking for a game thats pretty much similar to games like Modern warfare/gears of war, with a good campaign and 3rd person
@xmoshe: Well i guess its like a FPS game with 3rd person point of view. I guess its like GTA, but a hell lot more based on shooting through levels and all (like in FPS campaign modes). Will check Mass effect out ;p

Whats the difference between RPG and just games like Assassins creed and GTA? o.O

Three Unique, teehee.

I bought AoT: the 40th day, it was amazing while it lasted, I played through the entire campaign with my mate, and we had a blast, but it was just too short IMO.

I played the multi-player aswell but it's not as fun as you'd expect. Then again, I get bored of most games really fast.

Those are Action/Adventure Free roam games. An RPG is more direct and tells you what to do for the most part and has a static campaign.

Its a better name ;P
Well yeah, Ill be playing alone most of the time so just want a good, longish campaign. Multiplayer is meh, as long as it has 1vs1 mode or w/e you call it, since i dont have Live either ways.

Ah I see.

For people who have played Gears of War 2, how long is the campaign? Like compared to Black Ops etc, cause I remember the campaign was like reallllyyy short.

I JUST beat it on Insane Difficulty and it took like a week. And that wasn't playing very long each day. I even got all 42 Collectibles in that playthrough. Still really fun though. I'd say play it for the multiplayer, but you need the map packs to even play Horde online now which was my favorite.

I fairly enjoyed Army of Two, both the first one, and 40th day.

The campaign is fun, and working towards getting the "BIG" guns, can decide your strategy.

Also changing up the Difficulty is always interesting.

For a cheap 3rd person shooter, with fun, go for Army of Two

A free roam RPG is just like GTA but your character(s) evolve during the game. You will get points to get new skills, find new weapons, lvl up basically. You could see AC as a light RPG I guess.

Try going for Freedom Fighters for the PC
Its an old game but it stands up with some good 3rd person squad
based actions.

But it is somewhat short , you will finish the campaign in no time especially at the first difficulty level , It is like a walk in the park
