Games to fill time.

So after settling into my college (uni as they all it here), I am starting to find small things that I am going to have while I am here. One of the many things includes a game for my laptop that I can play during dead time between school, sports, and going out. I have a macbook pro, and from what I have seen the specs are pretty good. I don't think I will be able to play a FPS like CoD here since the bandwith isn't large enough (at least that is what a friend of mine here thinks.) What simple but good games should I try? Free is good too.

mhh I would say age of empires or warcraft/DotA. you could try battlefront heroes or quakelive if you are looking for a shooter. or Trackmania Nations Forever, definitely recommend it.

www.speedtest.net If you get like a 1mb/s download you should be able to play online games properly?
For games either some strategy singleplayer or indeed trackmania nations forever.

I was actually considering getting an emulator. Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming!
I'm thinking of doing either a mario emulator, zelda emulator, or maybe even rock the pokemon.

ROFL, you got pretty damn high expectations. It's easily possible to download at a 300KB/s connection, if you don't download some porn/whatever while you're playing.

Got a 2.5mb/s line, which is the lowest here so for me that's pretty low yeah. But I often download with 1mb/s cuz of other stuff and ofcourse the server you connect too lol.
Anyways I just picked up Fable: TLC for my pc, fable 3 coming out so want to get back in the mood :3

Bringing this baby back to life. Anyone know of mmorpgs that are decent for macs? Free is the key here. I honestly wish I could get SRO on this just so I could play a little bit with my old character. I think it has been... two years since i last played? I'm curious if I still have my account/money. I would be so pissed if I lost all of my gold. If you guys know of any other games that I can get that would be great. I want to get windows on here at some point so I don't feel so restricted to what I can play. That's the only bad part about having a mac. But I am sure I will manage.
Thanks guys.
