Hey, my old xbox stopped working so i got a new one, but now i wanna leave my old one at my other house. The old one whenever i turn it on i hear the starting sound but no picture comes up. And before that the colours were screwed up and everything was purple etc. But then the picture started to not come up at all. I have tried different cables and still doesn't work. Anyone know how i can fix it?

cold tends to help randomly. if its not under any warranties open the bad boy up get it as dust free as possible. divide the fan shroud so it splits the fans. then install a 3rd fan to run on its own power anywhere in front near the button to get better airflow. also if you want switch the fans in the back to an outside power source (like the one connected to the 3rd fan)

Dude I made a thread about this like 2 days ago.

It's basically dead, you over used it (overheat). I have the same problem, I can get it working for about 2 days by doing the Towel Trick but then it just dosn't work for the next 5 days.

P.S : Simply wrap your XBox while its running with 2-3 towels for about 20 mins. Then let it cool off for about 2 mins and it should work.
