how many more years do you guys think this gen. console will last?

ps3 a little longer than xbox 360 i think

Not being a fanboy or anything, but PS3 can go for a couple years longer than 360/Wii. Problem is will Sony be willing to let that happened? Look at the year head start that Microsoft had. It gave them the upper hand of sale in the United States, but not anywhere else. <excluding Wii sales>

So my best guess is 2012/~2014 for new consoles.

Everyone will realize the big mistakes they're making with all this motion control garbage soon enough.

2014ish, already expensive to make games on the consoles we have now, gah imagine $100 bucks (my prediction) for a game, if they already had released a 740XBox or a PS4.

I expect a new model xBox by the end of 2011, maybe mid 2012. the xbox360 has lasted long enough I think. It feels to me like it's nearing it's end?
A PS4 seems too early by then though. maybe 2014 for PS4.
A new nintendo, also not very far from now. Nintendo can't deny that it's gpu is really outdated now. And they've got their DS for the casual crowd, they're better of doing something for normal players this time.... probably.

Kinect/Natal is trying to keep the system alive. I wonder when the new Microsoft console comes out will they support it still? Look at the first one.

PS3 will continue as long as developers realize that possibility of bluray. There has been at the most 5 games that used the entire disc. Problem with that is everyone loves shooters. Shooters don't require the entire bluray disc so well.. /facepalm at this generation focusing more on FPS games over anything else.

Wii is casual. It won't die out til Nintendo decides to let it die out.

Microsoft announced awhile ago they will not be releasing another console anytime soon, just updated versions of the 360. Which they have just done.
I hope if Sony releases a new one, they come up with something better than "Ps4"... as long as they keep the PSN shit the same across platforms, then I won't care.

well we all know that sony is gonna keep the ps3 in for at least ten years, the ps2 is almost at it's 10 year mark here in the USA, so hopefully in bout 2-3 years we'll get a full upgrade from sony at least, hopefully the Wii2 or w/e it will be called comes out sometime tomorrow cuz in suck im sick the shitty Wii T_T NINTENDO U FAILED ME!

Since xbox slim has been released, i think the x360 will stay on the market for maybe 2-3 years.
If they were preparing to release a new console any time soon, they shoud not invested money to make this xbox slim.
