As of tomorrow Halo 2, one of the greatest online multiplayer shooters, is officially taken off of Xbox Live service.

I got a few last games in with some friends. I'll miss the Midship FFAs. TS Lockouts. Ball on Midship/Lockout. Many other game types and maps.

It's a sad day my friends. A very sad day.

halo 2 was lame. and why is it shutting down? halo 1 is still going for pc, is this just an xbox thing?

Microsoft is shutting down support for xbox original games over live.

Microsoft is stopping service for all old Xbox Live games.

translation: i was terrible at halo 2.

anyone who was anyone that played console from 05-07 knew that halo 2 was THE game, no contest.

Meh I didn't have Live on the original xbox, but I sure had fun playing with friends on one and linking with 2 xboxes

well all games in the halo franchise were 'the games' (except maybe wars lol) but honestly why play halo 2 when reach is around the corner

I think Halo 1 is still the best, at least took the most skill to master, especially online with the bullet lag.

I agree. If you could hold your own on XBC back in Halo 1, you were good.
But Halo 2 was really the break out game because of the online capabilities.
And...the service ends today. I just got the Final Notice email.

The only good part is I got 3 Months of XBL, 400 MS Points, and entry into the Halo: Reach beta free because of it.

SHIT...If I would of known this sooner I would played some matches again...and about the guy saying that Halo 2 was THE game to play on xbox live from 05-07 you are totally right, I am not a fanboy of halo but Halo 2 was the fuckin bomb...I played 8838 matches ..

Im going to try and play some more matches if it is still online

I play HPC sometimes still, usually with random pub names.
