Ok so, my pc is like 11 years old. So tax time hit and im upgrading a bit. Im going from a home built 1.47ghz amd xp processor with 1gb ddr of ram and a nvidia 6200 up to this.

Asus M3A78-EM Motherboard with HD Audio
AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8GHz Dual Core Processor
4GB DDR2 PC6400 800MHz Dual Channel (2GB x 2)
ATI Radeon HD4650 1GB PCIe (1DVI / 1VGA / 1HDMI)

Now I know this isnt the most top of the line pc ever. But its definitly a step up. Due to my shitty pc I was unable to really patisipate in the evolution of games for the past several years. So I need suggestions. Im looking for some decent games that my system will support. I have looked at Mass effect and crysis and some of the newer UT. I already have HL2 GOTY, which im looking forward to playing without crashing all the time.so yeah, throw them out there. I love wide ranges of game types from MMORPG - SPRPG - FPS - RTS.

Thanks for your time guys.

It's a nice, modern PC. It will run just about anything you need it to, and you'll definitely see huge improvements from your current system. If you're getting those parts for a nice price, grab em up.

See, the thing is, pretty much every game company still lowers the quality on their games enough so that even older computers can run them, due to the fact that a lot of people still have older computers.

yeah, i know, i had one. it had been through several power surges and all kinds of problems. it was like a krippled retard.

i didnt think MW2 would work cause the min req is like 3 ghz processor. and im under that. awesome.

The minimum is a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4.

I've never seen PC GHz make any difference. I have a 2.0GHz processor and I run MW2 on max settings with no lag.
