So before I just recently purchased my xbox this friday, i was a PC gamer, i played Combat Arms, Silkroad, World Of Warcraft, etc. but now when I started playing COD:MW2 on the xbox, i'm really bad. I can't grasp the whole idea, the xbox to me doesn't seem noob friendly, I wish my brother would've let me get the PS3 where I could be comfy with the PS controllers I've used.
The xbox controller just to me seems to have so many buttons in weird places, i can't aim properly, sometimes my gun won't even shoot because my fingers are in the wrong place. My KDR is 0.30 and I know that blows.

So any tips/guides you could reccomend?

What's so different about it from ps3 controllers? 2 sticks, 4 buttons (A/B/X/Y on xbox and square/circle/triangle/x on ps3) are on the same place and both got 4 shoulder buttons. I think you just prefer the ps3 so now you're bitching here lolz >.<

Anyway, not to sound like a giant ass. Switching from pc to console is a big step. Play some sp and spec ops with a friend or your bro. Get used to the controls and then try again online ^^

I'm not bitching. I actually like playing on the Xbox, i'm just not that good at it.

Just play! That's the best way to get used to playing with controller.I was in the same situation a year ago when I got my ps3 but now I can't play with mouse at all. (Ps3 controller is better though)

Thanks guys. And for Moshe, I think Ill play Spec-Ops for now but the campaign is so boring >.<

Actually, the 360 controller fits in your hands really well, imo one of the best controllers ever. Just play it, it's not that hard to get used.

I think the SP is worth it even though it's only 5/6 hours on normal lolz. You should just play through it, it'll get better later =p And yeah spec ops is a good way to have fun and learn to handle the controls.

Consoles are upgraded every 4+ years and manage to keep up. Consoles take more skill than PC click and fire..

Everybody shut up, RuYi already locked my previous thread about ps3 vs. xbox360 because everyone was debating. Let's not do that again.

I'm a PC gamer. CODMW2 is the first FPS I have ever played on xbox. It's really hard to make the switch but eventually it gets easier.

I still prefer keyboard/mouse but with how hard we got farked on PC (I preordered/loaded PC version and tried it out as well), I rather play on xbox with a handicap controller.

OT

The easiest way to get better is play through SP on veteran and learn to dodge bullets (lol). You'll find a play style that fits you and then all you need to do is practice. The fact that you can't grip the controller properly is just the transition stage kicking you in the nuts. It'll all blow over eventually.

Seriously, I was in the same situation. Just play the game and you will improve. It was a transition point, but it was worth it.

I didn't find playing fps on my pc or my console that much of a challenge/difference you guys must just have like a one way mentality or something. Just keep at it, should be come natural after 3+ hours.

In my opinion Bioshock takes the cake still even now when it comes to recent fps campaigns.

Bioshock is more of an rpg.

It's pretty obvious that you haven't really played on consoles. If you would have you would know that auto aim more of a nuisance than good thing.

This is the first multiplatform fps i bought on my ps3, and I love it. Really it's so smooth combat, psn is great and you can chat with your whole team without lagging... I really like the ps3 controler it fits so well. but yeah nothing beats xBox 1 controller...

play mario or zelda, they are really old but still fun
but they do get you to learn the controller because the games aren't hard but require interactions that arent too time sensitive so you learn where buttons are

the shooter games has too much panic when learning controllers

I'll take a 300-400$ console lasting 3-5 years + games over a PC any day, and I Farking work and am certified for IT Hardware repair, Software testing, and general maintainability. Paying 700$+ for a machine that will NEED parts replaced, managed, software, etc.. (700$ is kind, 1500$+ for a DECENT gaming rig...) is not my idea of "**** yeah gaming!". I'd rather spend 1500$ on a workstation platform and sneak in a video card from work for gaming than have a PC for work and home + a console tho.

For those of you who just want a computer at home to internet and work;

Console is your best bet.

Mario or Zelda on a X360? How does that work.

Too bad I'm a retard when it comes to controllers. I have to keep checking where the Farking buttons are. Aiming is a Farking disaster, especially because I can play shooters very well on the PC.
Shame more and more is transferring to consoles. I mean Cod MW2 is really a console game and just doesn't work for PCs too well.
I think buying a new $300 console every 4 years is a really good concept, I'd like it very much for PCs. Too bad XBox's don't come with mice and keyboards.
Why not I will never understand. Mouse and keyboard is probably superior in every way, and even if you don't agree there should be an option to play with controller.
If nextgen consoles work with mouse and keyboard I'm sold.

Whahahahah your just like me loool. I have the same problem. I bought a Xbox360 + MW2 a month ago, and it's unbelievable how shit I am, while I've been playing cod2 since it's release. I've ordered MW2 for PC now, it should arrive today. But now im quite sure I'll never buy a FPS for xbox again.

@ Wouter, mouse and keyboard is superior in FPS games, but I'd rather have my controller for fighting games and such.
