i dont get it...

Ascension is when after you reach a certain level, you can choose to basically restart again: You go back to Lv1, but you have better skills. Think of it like a "rebirth" kind of thing. It's basically to get stronger.

i see ascension as something similar to rebirth in Conquer Online

You can rebirth into a different faction in this game as well. That gets reset when you ascend.
Basically, you turn back to level 1 but the second time around you need twice as much exp to level up. But in return you are 50% stronger the second time around.
