Tired of mmorps for now, what pc games do you recommend me?

Well, just when my vacations started I realized I'm tired of MMORPGS for now (like sro). It doesn't make sense to me to grind endlessly to get some percentage, get to cap, pvp 2 days and quit.

So can you suggest me some PC games I can play during vacations? I like almost all genres, but my favorites are RPGs like Tomb Raider or something like that where you don't lvl, you just try to advance on the game until you finish it (with mind puzzles, bosses and such, like Tomb Raider ). However, suggestion of any genre is welcome.

Uh, just want to point out that my PC is not as good as to run Assassin's creed or the such (Well it can but with low graphic settings)

Lol, actually the bad part is the graphics card. Well it's not THAT bad, but not good enough for Assassin's Creed. Other than that everything runs just fine

P.S.: I've already played all of Metal Gear and Price of Persia.

Do I need to play Half Life one to understand the second one? Better yet, is Half Life 1 worth enough to play it?

If you like RPG's then Prince of Persia is absolutely a must. Prince of Persia the sands of time (first game in the series) is now a free download, so go and try it.
I personally think it's a great game, very entertaining, sometimes challenging (only the first part has some 'difficult' puzzles, the others are easier) all in all a great RPG.

Of course Max Payne 2 should be said. Best RPG ever made imo. Max Payne 1 is decent, not as good as 2. Prior knowledge of 1 is not necessary to understand the story behind 2.

Half Life 2 is the best single player shooter I ever played. Great story, I still think it has great graphics too. (tbh, I think Crysis/Farcry look like shit compared to HL2. Things in real life do not 'shine' and reflect all light)

GTA Vice City and San Andreas are also very very good singleplayer games. If you only want to try one, try San Andreas. I like it better because I like to fly a lot when I play. (I cheat 24/7, it's already a singleplayer game no point in deriving myself of some fun. I want to blow up shit, ride big tanks and kill everyone in sight. I cba collecting money and what not. If you can't either start cheating right away)

Call of Duty series have pretty interesting single player campaigns as well. I'm prejudiced because I think CoD1 is superior to all, so I also think CoD1 single player was the best out of them all.

If you like RTS you should definitely check out Age of Empires 2 and it's expansion. I was totally hooked onto that shit when I was like 7-10. Played LAN with my brother for days on end. We'd trade in our household currency of tea to stop each other from attacking. "Ok bro, I'm gonna give you 1 pot of tea if you don't attack right now". Of course you had to be retarded not to ask for 2 while you started to slaughter the villagers but that was another aspect of it all. Erm.. right, I drift off when I talk about AoE2. Without caring if I sound nerdy: those days of age of empires LAN were the best of my childhood.
And while still on the subject of RTS: Age of Mythology is also pretty good.

Well anyways thats all I remember for now. But if you're gonna play every game on that list you'll probably be set for the entire vacation. Or a couple of weeks very intensive gaming.

Just saw your new post. HL1 is not worth it. You don't need it for HL2. I am playing it right now and it's not even anywhere near HL2. It was a very different and amazing game for it's time which is why it scores well, but HL2 is the stuff.

If you're going for old school RPGs go for Fallout2 and Diablo2.

you just really need to know what happened in hl1 (can be found on like wiki and that) then they just randomly make small blast to the past stuff (like minor things). hl2 was made for people who both played hl1 and didn't play

nope you have to get hl1 by other means

and funny thing is a few weeks ago hl2 was 66% off ^^ thats how i got it and fell in love with the game all over again. played it on the xbox first but the pc version is SOOOOOOOO much better!
