Twelve Sky 2 (Review)

Yes, I know there are a few other brief topics about this game already but I decided to do a review anyway. And yes, this is an Aeria game. Probably the only one that doesn't suck diseased monkey balls. Onward.

EDIT: Mayn is the company -.-;

Image

Gameplay
The game seems smooth, you get quests, you need to use your skill points wisely, no sp farming. Relatively impressive for an Aeria game. Crafting and enchanting are available. You also get a SHIT load of various types of floating Asian style pets that actually benefit to your stats depending on which you have. Pet list.

Graphics
Graphics are pretty nice to the eyes, cool skills, bloom effect. Not choppy and ugly and best of all an interface that doesn't cloud your screen with text/tiny text. Something that I cannot tolerate. Movement is smooth. Looks alot better then some of the Asian style games out there atm.

Music and Sounds
Give or take, nothing special. The NPCs sound like they were English fan dubbed with a crappy recorder. Sound is eh, but who plays with the sound on usually?

Leveling and Skills
Typical mmo style, you've got quests and skill points must be used wisely. No sp farming as said above and apparently there are skill reset items. The next set of equipment can be worn once you reach higher levels. The armors as well as skills are flashy and vibrant. You even get jump and sprint skills

Factions
There are several choices to make during character creation. You can customize your character's appearance, but you must also choose a Faction.

Each faction has different strengths and weaknesses, as well as different weapons. However, each faction has three types of weapons. While you select a weapon at this screen, you may also purchase and use a different weapon type once in game.

* Offense - Greater attack power, but lower defense.
* Defense - Greater defense, but lower attack power.
* Ranged - Skills can be used at range.

Tid-Bits
 Character deletion is instant.
 2 easy to login server, relatively full but never a server full message.
 Ftp with item mall.
 Characters can pick either server, as in you are not bound to one or the other.
 Client size is 2GB.

Overview
This game is actually pretty fun, I know it hasn't got much hype or maybe none at all but if you give it even just a few minutes you may like it too. The bloom effect really does wonders for the graphics. I'd say it's a game at least worth trying. I haven't had much time to play any mmo lately but the bit I was playing this I enjoyed quite a bit. So give it a try why dontcha?

Running and jumping can be upgraded like skills periodically I believe. Jackal has a skill where he jumps high off my screen.

think i'll give this game a try. from the videos, movement seems rather stiff and sound effect doesn't align with the actions.

how's the leveling? easy? grindy?

I couldn't find any good quality videos unfortunately. I'm only lvl 14 atm so not sure how the grinding is.

I read the game was revamped heavily after the beta, but I could be wrong.

Not fugly in a graphic way, but gameplay-wise. So sluggish and uncordinated.

Havent played that much, but fomr what I played everything was fairly smooth, the only thing that was annoying was the jump skill.

The 2 seem to be compared often, then noobs argue which is better. It looks like 9 Dragons has a different Asian look to it compared to Twelve Sky 2. I'll have to check 9 Dragons out and see.

Hell no.

9dragons> Twelve Sky2

I wouldnt even compare them. Only bad thing about 9dragons is the ultimate grind you need to do, even worse than sro.

Tho nice review, Sachin. i could play it just for giggles, but i barely have time to play PangYa.

Jackal and I play on whichever is the least populated, it seems they are server merging soon, hope that doesn't mean one freakin over populated server. Anyway, we're still trying out all the classes.

Probably skills, there are special skills any class can get gradually in the game.
