Hi there, i just downloaded Perfect World, created 1 char of each class, and tryin em out. Id like to have some help from our SRF users who play it..

which server to choose?
any faction (is that the right name?) i can join to learn more?
which is the best job, any useful hint about classes? what do i have to know before start, pick a class or a job ingame?

Thanks in advance.
If this isnt the right place to post this, please move it. ;)

I would give it more "fun quota" than PW, yes, but it's still in beta. I don't know of anyone in PW from SRF except for satman83 and _Lana_, while currently there are at least 10-20 people in SRF playing. That may change, so it's up to you.

We have two guilds - DarkOath and Asylum - and an alliance between the two. There is a cool system of guild buffs, and you go up VERY quickly - I bet there are people at 50 already (I'm lvl 43). We just don't know yet how bad it gets once you get to the higher levels.

I haven't even logged on to SRO for a week, and I gave up my last week of premium for JD! :)

The one weird thing is that botting is both allowed and encouraged - they give you an "esper" and you can bot with it for free, however long you want. I don't think it'll loop back to town, though. Also, you can "meditate" in town for free XP, although it's not nearly as good as doing the quests or doing a boss quest in a party(there are several daily quests you can do once you hit 30).

Instead of SRO's grind, it's JD "quest and walk everywhere". Walking gets a little old, and I haven't got a mount yet.

Oh, if you join, go US EAST, and server Billows.

Yup satman is right, there are five versions of the game: China, Philippines, Malaysia, Europe and International.

If your going to play PW Int play it on Harshlands or Lost City.
Yes, it does say they are PvP but believe me you don't wan to go on PvE servers.

While JD has a very similar interface and controls the story is different, the system is different and while JD has nicer looking skills from the begging i still think Pw would be far more fun and interesting.

Don't get me wrong, both are better options than Ether Saga but yeah.

Damn.. not im in doubt. All i want is a "long term" group to play with. tired of the lonely sro life.
im really lovin the system, the customize options, classes and everything else. help me to decide, pals.. JD or PW int? i want to get attached to one mmo again, with friendly team mates.

:P

There are 7 people in Asylum and 13 people in DarkOath (IIRC we are saving one spot). Only 15 people per guild at this point.

8 openings in Asylum and one in Darkoath.

Powerlevel? Heh, you get XP from meditating or botting, so really no reason to, but I guess...just get in a party and do a boss quest and you'll see how quickly you level.

Sorry but doesn't matter what version you play in...Power leveling doesn't exist
because when in a party with someone 10 or more lvls then you, you both get no
exp.

Its an easy game to lvl in, just do your quests and you level with easy.

Thats why i like PW more then other games, cash doesn't make you much more powerful but it saves money and time. Also you can't legally multibox, bot or powerlv.

All the other games PW made are just made mostly for people to spend a lot of money on.

In JD only the bot is provided, you can't multiclient legally (there is a disclaimer) but you can multibox on darn near anything. I remember running PW on two PC's and never got banned. You're saying it's against the rules?

No powerlevel in JD per se, I didn't get great XP when I tagged along in a party, was just sucking XP (and a lot less XP). It's much easier to just do quests and reward quests over and over, or run the esper.

jade dynasty is way less cash dependent then PW imo.
