A new super cute fantasy mmo with a alot of jobs and a crapload of other stuff. Open beta started May 14 2009. The game is free to play with item mall shop implemented later on. Let the review begin!

Image

Story
Luna Online is a MMORPG where Elves and Humans must bond together to fight the evil that invades their Blue land. Game characters are super cute style, with very manga-like (cartoon-like) facial expression.

General Gameplay
Luna Online is your typical point and click mmo. It has many similarities to ROSE Online if anyone has played it. In the beginning your character may seem to run rather slow but there are default noob items that give you speed scrolls and other items that increase your movement speed. Also at level 24 you get a quest to get a pair of wings which dramatically increases your speed. These wings are permanent and you have a choice of which you would like (There are even balloons).

Grinding, it's rather easy, so far, but there is plenty of quests to keep you busy, once finished you can head on over to the next map for the next set. Quests give good amounts of exp and good items. The quests are rather simple and repetitious but still beneficial. So far it doesn't seem to be a grind fest game and there is NO SP farming. Some quests require you to kill bosses, these bosses aren't terribly hard like raid bosses but there is almost always people around to help you..or ks you. Either way it's not impossible and it doesn't take long.

This game has been categorized as a "dating mmo" however that's totally optional.

Graphics
The game is cute styled and the graphics are rather good. No ridged edges or smudges. The sky is a bit bland but different maps have different skies. This was something I wasn't too impressed with at first then it came natural. This could also be because the main map you start on is in the sky floating on clouds. Though as you progress on maps, the sky starts to get clouds and such. The world map shows there are down to earth areas as well. The music is cute at first then becomes a bit repetitious. There is an off option though.

Many of common terms used today such as "lol", "T_T", "><" or "kk" etc make your character perform a cute facial expression just by typing it in any chat. Some examples in Jackal's video down below. A little guide here.

Races and Classes
Upon character creation you are asked to be either a Human or an Elf. Both have the choice to be "Rogue", "Mage" and "Fighter". It may seem like simple choices but these jobs branch out to 40 different possibilities. From what I've heard the cap is 120 but it could be higher. The current cap is 60 or 80+.

Skills
Skill points are fickle, much like ROSE Online you get a certain amount of SP with each time you level up. There is no SP farming in this game. There are so many skills to choose from you must research your build carefully and calculate exactly what you want and what you'll need most. There is no skill resets and there is no skill reset item mall (Which isn't implemented yet but there will be such an item when it is). There is a rumor of skill reset scrolls around. There are also miner skills you have by default such as construct etc.

PK/PvP
There is PvP and PK in this game. There were several times I wanted to PK someone for ksing me. alot of areas you must fight to be the last to hit the monster to get the quest item (Again, just like ROSE Online). You even have your own PK counter in your status menu.

Matching and Family System
There is a "Match making system" which will find someone else in the server for you to match your character builds, such as if your a mage with low armor. It will find a good tanker to be your "match partner", once found your perfect match you will get some additional powers...if your rate other users "good" and have good personality with them(like Sims) you can match up with them again or even bond into the "family system"

The "Family system" is a party of 5 people that you have good "match" or good "relationship" with, you'll be able to grand name of father, mother etc. etc.(party leader, sub-leader etc. etc.). If you are good with your family, you'll be able to gain more power and will be bale to build things, like vehicles etc. etc. you'll also get a farm. When fighting monsters, if a "match" or "family" member is under attack and you help them, it will strengthen your relationships which will make you stronger, or level up etc.

Guilds
There are 8 guild levels and each require guild points, money and sometimes quests to raise the level. There are also guild buffs as the guild grows, guild storage and grant names.

Fishing
A better fishing explanation can be found here. Since I have not tried this yet.

Economy/Population
So far the economy seems balanced. I haven't played long enough to know whats what just yet. The population is brimming. This game has tons of players, alot of english speaking. All friendly. There are no real lag issues unless you're in town but that's not too bad and you're able to move freely. I am at least.

Tidbits
 Open beta started May 14, 2009.
 You receive rewards for online time and monster kill count.
 No crashing or d/c issues.
 Avatars with bonus stats drop frequently from mobs and last 3-7 days.
 This game has a TON of special items.
 The client is 599MB.
 Once you join a party you stay in it. Even if you and all party members logout.
 Storage is shared with all account characters.
 2 servers each with 4 channels. Your characters are bound to a server.
 Character deletion is immediate.
 All drops are auto pick-up, even in parties.
 There is bot report skill/note almost 100% implemented. You report a user and if they don't respond to a question they are "destroyed". Ironically this "note" looks almost exactly like a Death Note.

This may look like the girliest game ever made but it is really fun. If you give it some time and try it out you may like it as well. I even had to persuade Jackal to play and once he tried it he really liked it. This took quite awhile to write >.> so I hope it was helpful and hope people give it a try. Any questions or help I'd be happy to do my best to help/answer so feel free to ask ^_^\o/

Will update off and on to fix any incorrect info or updates!

Sometimes it feels like I just waste my time spending hours writing these reviews and sharing with others but I'm sure that's just me.

I thought the same thing, I was like "I don't think I can play this" lol >.>, but turned out to be alot more complex and less girly then it looks.

The job system is pretty sweet, basically of the general types there are, such as the starting ones, fighter/mage/togue, you can totally mix and match skills from each type, like mage job goes wizard for atk and offense, then the next job change could be a cleric type and get some buffs and w/e, then the next job pick nother offensive type for more atks and stuff, of course you won't get the sp to simply get all the buffs and atks but you could certainly find a nice combo i'm sure.

I planned to be Archer mainly then at the 4th job go dagger based class(still gona use bow) to get Stealth lol, from what I hear its a good idea for pvp.

Nah, your reviews are appreciated by me at least. Has me seriously considering playing this game for a bit.

Ninja Edit: Jackal's video had me rolfing. Specially the part where he switches to some costume to look like those mobs, then after killing a few, uses some sort of face thing that looks kinda like "rawr!"

Reminds me of ROSE Online. I used to play iROSE (Ancient F2P version) until they shut the server down - it was probably the best part of the game for me since we made a tower of money boxes and PK (i know what you're thinking, and yes =p) everyone that comes near it.

But right now I'm feeling nostalgic about Ragnarok so I'm trying to decide whether or not to download Ragnarok Online. Thanks for the review though - kinda surprised me since it's the complete opposite of Requiem.

Rose was way better then this, but this game is F2p and its pretty good.

lol Sacch and I weee there too, Since IRose opened, that was definitely fun times, we still play it sometimes, not that particular server of course but AruaRoase,
If you were a fan of Rose though, you may like this, its kind of like it but I guess cutsier, with more complex stuff, an item mall, more upto date gameplay.

<3 cf.
